I noticed that the entries in the database optimization page always remain 0, however mucht I change on the site. But I didn’t find an option for automatic database updating?
I didn’t look too well obviously: thought that a premium upgrade was necessary. But now I see that that is only to schedule it. Thanks for your reply, this will make my review 5 stars! ??

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] FontAwesome – Gizmo Font ConflictYes I am still experiencing the problem. Of course, since the plugin has not updated yest. This is the result with SSP 2.1.1. V 2.04 still worked well.
You can see it on the homepage of https://www.ambientblog.net/blog as well as on every blogpost page.
Please check asap if you want to see and let me know if you’ve checked it so that I can downgrade again because I don’t want to have these ugly squares up for too long.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] FontAwesome – Gizmo Font ConflictTrying to find out how to use the (original theme ) CSS in the child theme so it will be independent of plugin updates. Should be a right way to avoid this (apart from the plugin itself not using double definitions)

In reply to: [Seriously Simple Podcasting] FontAwesome – Gizmo Font ConflictI have the same issue with the Fluida Plus theme. Had to revert to previous plugin version to have the icons re-appear again. Must block this version update for now

In reply to: 4.9.6 search displays all postsPROBLEM SOLVED!
The misbehaviour was caused by another plugin (Facebook Pixel), that was recently installed but which I didn’t need anyway. Deactivating it solved the problem.

In reply to: 4.9.6 search displays all postsWe’re narrowing it down now: the problem is not in the theme itself but in the child version.
I won’t bother you with the code for now, because I’ll dive into this first and try to find the difference myself.

In reply to: 4.9.6 search displays all postsOK, that’s great, how do I post the search.php? Just copy the code here in a post?
I’ll definitely contact the theme developers. Slight problem may be that they have a version update already but upgrading ruins my (child) version of the theme. Correcting that would probably be a lot of work so it’s either that or choosing a different theme.(BTW I was wrong in my example that it should return only the first entry. In this test version of the blog (with a random theme TwentySeventeen) you see the correct search results, which is definitely more than one

In reply to: 4.9.6 search displays all postsIt definitely is a theme issue. No problem when I switched themes. Strange thing is that this behaviour only started after the latest WP core update. Oh well.

This should return only the first entry. Below that are all recent posts.
Have not tried a different theme yet, will do asapForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Simple Download Monitor] What does the counter count exactly?Thank you, but Log Unique IP is not a solution for this problem; since I want to know what files users download if they download multiple files. And it would still count the robots.

In reply to: [Simple Download Monitor] What does the counter count exactly? Here’s my update after a week:
The robots.txt seemed to help – a bit… But every few days a new search engine robot (ignoring the robot.txt) seems to download all files almost simultaneously (easily recognisable in the logs – see example below). I remove these log entries manually, a bit of a job but it corrects the download counts.
Assuming that everyone using this plugin must have the same problem, I guess most people simply enjoy looking at download count that are much too high and not a realistic number.
Especially since most users will not use a robots.txt.
I’d love to hear from other users about this.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Simple Download Monitor] What does the counter count exactly? No, it’s not a protected download.. and I don’t really want to protect it since it is offered as a free download. I might setup a test page with a protected download if necessary, but for now (last 24 hr) it seems that the robot.txt might have helped.
I’ll keep you informed!Bye

In reply to: [Simple Download Monitor] What does the counter count exactly?I’ll try a robots.txt to exclude the /sdm_downloads directory. See if that works.. Will let you know
