What should I rename index.html to? Just anything else?

Currently I have all my blog files residing in both my root directory and my /blog directory, and I went into the database to change the blog URLs back to https://www.mysite/blog. But I still can’t access wp-admin from https://www.mysite/blog/wp-admin – nor does anything load when I go to https://www.thestylishcopywriter.com/blog.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what I can try next? At this point I don’t care if my blog ends up in the root or in the /blog directory – I just want it up and accessible again!

I’m not sure what you mean by “created within your wordpress blog?”

I basically copied all the WordPress-related files that used to reside in my /blog directory and moved them into the root directory, where they were sitting with my .html files from my original site.

I very much appreciate the help…I’m feeling pretty desperate here!

I just realized that the instructions said to “make sure your root directory is ready for the new files (including the index.php file, the .htaccess file, etc.). “

I hadn’t deleted my index.html file before I transferred my files…could this be the cause of the problem? A conflict between index.php and index.html or something?
