In reply to: [Zotpress] Post zotpress update: displaying entire library?Thank you so much for your reply! Re: the automated change in shortcodes, please disregard — as I mentioned upthread, that was just confusion on our end. (Distributed work team!) I believe we’ve fixed all of those, so right now we’re really just noticing what looks like Zotpress “hanging” after each reference. We’re seeing this in Chrome and Firefox, and on lab computers. Visually, the reference appears as it should, and then underneath each reference we get the gear spinner, as if Zotpress isn’t resolving some additional call.
Just to verify: If you scroll down to “references” on these pages, you don’t see any spinning gears? Just a list of references?

We’re using the Page Speed theme. I sadly don’t see a way to attach a screenshot here.
By new inserts, I mean any references added via the shortcode generator since the Zotpress update. They use a different syntax than the shortcodes created when we started using Zotpress. I assumed this change was related to the latest update, but that might be wrong. Basically, web pages we using the Zotpress shortcode generator “a while ago” use this syntax:
[zotpress userid=”1341761″ items=”4GNX6KNA” style=”chicago-author-date”]
And new references use this:
[zotpress items=”{1341761:FB93IUDR}” style=”chicago-author-date”]

In reply to: [Zotpress] Post zotpress update: displaying entire library?Apologies, one more note! I think we hallucinated the shortcodes changing format on their own — maybe our distributed team updated some incorrectly? So please disregard that comment if we’re wrong on that.
Here’s another page where the older format is used, but it’s still seems to be trying to double-reference:

In reply to: [Zotpress] Post zotpress update: displaying entire library? We’re also not sure what’s happening on this page:
https://des4div.library.northeastern.edu/overcoming-bias-through-inclusive-design-processes-zoe-chao/Those are all newly inserted shortcodes so have the correct syntax, and yet we get the spinning gear. Perhaps there are setting on our end causing trouble?

In reply to: [Zotpress] Post zotpress update: displaying entire library?Apologies for taking so long to reply! On the above pages, even with a cleared cache, it looks like it’s trying to display citations double. Once cite is displayed, and then there’s a spinny gear underneath:

We also noticed something that may be related?. After we updated the Zotpress plugin, the shortcode for the Zotpress references changed format across our website. This seemed to happen without our interference.
I just noticed on another of our problem pages that where the Zotpress shortcodes were updated automatically, they’re using a different syntax than a shortcode newly inserted via the plugin.
On this page:
https://des4div.library.northeastern.edu/indigenous-knowledge-meaning-and-emotion-in-collections-databases/The Zotpress references seem to be displaying the entire library again, as well as trying to duplicate references.
The automatically transformed references look like this:
[zotpress items={“library:item”} style=”chicago-author-date”]
And one we just entered via the plugin looks like this:
[zotpress items=”{library:item}” style=”chicago-author-date”]
(I’ve obscured the library and item numbers but am happy to provide those if it helps.)
We fixed that syntax on a few items and that did indeed seem to solve the “trying to display entire library” problem, but not the “trying to display references twice” problem.
Again, thank you for all of your work!

In reply to: [Zotpress] Post zotpress update: displaying entire library?I just installed the update and now it’s just displaying the referenced citations. (To be honest, this is not a big problem for us, but I wanted to mention it in case it’s important.) Thank you for all of your hard work!!
But I’m also sorry to report that now, unfortunately, it’s displaying citations double.
