It’s okay Marcel. I think I will give up on this. Thanks for helping out.
Hi Marcel,
It works on my local machine. But the hosting company said it’s not their issue. :T Is there any rquirement like connection from the plugin to an external site?
Thanks.
Alvin
Hi Marcel,
I’ve obtained the error and access logs but nothing there. The hosting provider also denied having any spam protection. ??
I think the next step will be for me to deploy it in my local machine n see if it works.

I will check with them and update here once I’ve received any feedback
Hi Marcel, I’ve updated. The error just now is gone but now it’s rendering nothing. A completely blank page. It was showing few tabs on the left before this.
I did a network check at the debugger but not showing me anything except for status = FAILED.ok, i just saw this error. could be the cause
Fatal error: Call to a member function checkForUpdates() on a non-object in /home/alvinlim/public_html/cubicnation/wp-content/plugins/add-link-to-facebook/add-link-to-facebook-class.php on line 789
How to see the browser debugger code in Chrome? Could only see 200 OK for those prior to save button. Not sure how to check this. Only can see it failed when trying to connect from WordPress’ tools.php.
Thanks for your quick response Marcel. I’ll talk to the hosting provider. I don’t have any access to the log files.
If you need me to debug further, please let me know how I can do that. I have no issue with other plugins though. But I really wish to have this ??

In reply to: Plugin Update Error : Download failed.: couldn’t connect to hostI’m facing the same issue. I cannot upgrade the plugin automatically and I cannot upgrade the WordPress itself automatically.
If manual upgrade, it can work. FTP credentials are also okay. I’ve even checked with my hosting company and they’ve verified it’s not their issue.
This is the reply from them.
– What we suspect the idle FTP Client of WordPress is used up at the time you try to perform the update. However, the best way to find out is to ask WordPress itself.
The manual download from the server itself is working but the automatic upgrade is not.
Hopefully WordPress can help out with this?
Thanks!

In reply to: Problem with category listing pageI’ve switched the Ajax off and it fixed the problem. Guess the Ajax feature will have problems with Google Adsense.
