Thanks for the links – I will read through them.
I am worried this might happen to my other sites… this is the first time I am hearing about nginx.conf… I have located this in the w3-total-cache plugin.
Would I be right in guessing that it installed this in the last update?
Think to be on the safe side I will leave the .htaccess where it is and configure the nginx.conf file too. I do not know which one it is using.

Few queries if I may:
Why did the “wp-admin” stop working? I didnt do anything different or new?
I’m guessing the new url above is fine to use permanently now?
Do I just delete my .htaccess file if it is not needed, or leave it where it is?
