In reply to: Display blog posts on separate static pageThanks for the replies guys.
jeff I’ve tried your solution and it is pulling in the latest posts – just need to work on the styling now. If I want to show the latest 3 posts from all categories what would I change that to – category_name=news?

In reply to: Login page not displaying fullyOk, so I’ve fixed the problem. The version of WP being used on the live site is 3.3.1, I took down the latest 3.6.1 login.php file, so I tried the 3.3.1 login.php file and it now works!

In reply to: Duplicate WordPress Site on Same ServerThanks for the reply Rock Solid.
I seen there is an option to hard code the URL’s into the wp-config file. I will give that a go first and see if it works.
Cheers.

In reply to: Importing DatabaseThanks for the clarification. I thought that was the case, just wanted to be sure.
I had just tested it now, imported the old database and got the white screen, so I’ve imported the previous test database and it’s back to normal. I will use the import / export feature of WordPress and hopefully all will be ok.
Cheers.

In reply to: Permissions QuestionThanks for the reply Sabinou. I had seen online that it was 644, just wanted to make sure, as it seems a site I was working on (not updating, just editing an SEO plugin) had a 500 error this morning.
As far as I know nothing was updated and I hadn’t worked on the site in a few days, but looking at the htaccess file it had been changed this morning, so I thought maybe a plugin had caused the change and maybe a permission issue would have sorted it out…
The old htaccess file was uploaded and is set to 644 and the site is fine now.

In reply to: Upload folder is not writable…Ok looks as though I got it sorted.
Sent Gravity Forms an email about it, they had suggested it was a disk space issue, so I got onto my hosting company (Blacknight), and they were very helpful.
They had told me that I needed to change the PHP5 support from Run as Apache module to Run as a CGI application and to send them an email and they would update file permissions…
All sorted now!

In reply to: Upload folder is not writable…Ok I have deactivated the Gravity Forms plugin again to see if the error message would go away and it did.
So I tried to upload the social media icons in the footer again through the theme options, but it gives this error when uploading and image:
Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2013/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Upload folder is not writable…I’ve removed the 2 rows of images on the home page as they were not displaying.
