Forgive me for being pedantic; is it correct to say that no-one other than inkthemes.com or WordPress would make the Colorway theme available, for example, on a freebie website?
This brings me back to my original comment, gleaned from a WordPress forum, in which the comment was made that downloaded themes are amended with some minor code change (intended to secure passwords, etc) and then uploaded to a freebie website for naive newbies to download.

This is a good reference, thanks, but as you see from the table in your reference, Palatino Linotype is one of the most common fonts, and I certainly have it installed on my computer and is available on my browser, it would by logic show up on the web page. I have another web page almost entirely Palatino and it shows up fine.
So I believe it’s a coding issue.

There is a readme.txt file, license.txt file and changelog.txt file in the themes folder. The readme.txt file reads as follows (no author or URL listed) apart from the support link.
Nothing remarkable in any of these files. I would be more interested if there was some registration code/file on installation within the WordPress framework which may record where the theme came from.

To Install Colorway Theme, Put the "colorwaytheme" directory in your wp-content/themes directory and Activate the Theme from WordPress Admin Panel.
The Theme installs with the basic layout in place. You can configure the Home Page using the Themes Options Panel.
If you want to build a blog, use the Template Type as "Blog Page" from the Page Attributes Section within the Add new Page section. The blog would come up in the page you created.
The process is similar for creating the Contact us page and the gallery page. In the gallery page you need to upload the images using the upload image buttons and just have to save the changes. Nothing is needed to be appeared in the page as you hit publish, a nice gallery would come up.

This issue is resolved. The style.css file was being sent to an old wp-content folder which should have been uninstalled by WordPress Uninstall. Colorway child theme now works. Thanks for your help.

Yes; here’s the situation. I have an active web site at alkpurusha.net created on iWeb (Mac) which I am hoping to recreate with WordPress. So I was advised to install WordPress at justhost.com in the same root directory as the current site, but in a sub-folder, which i did (alkpurusha.net/WordPress). I am guessing by your puzzlement that I maybe have fluffed this installation and need to redo. Perhaps this is why the child theme isn’t working…

I tried this suggestion and changed the style.css but still the child theme is not there. Also logged off and on, no difference. Any other suggestions?
