    Thanks!

Well, there’s a point where I will suggest to the client to make a landing page, if it’s that important show black, without seeing the website for a second.

I tried countless solutions. But I kept running into the issue that I have to make two independent objects look each other’s visibility up…

Until my searches resulted in “preloading”, so I ended up here.

It also seems counter-web-philosphy, to show a popup instead of the actual page at first glance. Seems like fighting windmills.

Thanks again. I’ll continue my don Quichotte travels through the endless fields of the interwebs, hoping I don’t end up being the donkey. ??

Thanks @xnau for your response. I will need some time to investigate this in detail because I am swamped and backing up that local site is broken. And I need a backup to start the heart surgery.

But I wanted to show a sign of appreciation for your answer. It gives me confidence that this is not lost. I will post if I resolve, or break.

What I can add is that I completely removed Solid Security, also made sure the itsec_ tables were dropped and then reinstalled.

When configuring, I encountered an issue, when I wanted to configure the website as my clients site (btw, those choices are missing “regular website for clients”. I tempt to use “Portfolio” which is bunkers, but I digress…).

I had to configure the site as my own site… Then the configurator ran through.

After that, I had to add the “SOLID_SECURITY_LEGACY_2FA_UI” line into the wp-config, because 2FA was broken and I could not reset it.

Not to totally mess up this thread, but because it’s related, let me mention what’s going on with the User Security page. It seems that the plugin “Broken Link Checker” is in conflict with Solid Security. Disable that plugin and the User Security page is back. So, it could be, that this plugin messes with other things in Solid Security and cause other things, like 2FA reset, to break.

    Hi Shaylee,

Thank you for your answer and sorry for my delay. I am back up and running, half-mast tho’…

Full disclosure, I was also talking to the support through the Ninja Forms website, and I apologize for not closing this ticket. In the heat of such a transfer, every straw could be a solution, and I was grasping.

Now with a little distance, let me catch up.

The direct support suggested that I call each form by their ID, directly in the browser. Publishing them, will bring them back to the dashboard for editing.

This would be the link to call them: SITEURL/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ninja-forms&form_id=#######

Replace the #### with your form ID.

This worked sort off. The forms were back in the dashboard, but without all the actions…

This website was created 2016. So, it was an old Ninja Forms install. Pre v3. That’s why I have “_nf_’ entries in the db and “_nf3_” entries. By calling the forms by it’s ID, and clicking the “publish” button, the basic form got saved to the “_nf3_” tables, but the actions were still in the “nf_” tables.

Bottom line, I will probably still follow your description and completely remove Ninja Forms, drop the tables and start from scratch.

So, thank you for your input! It was not lost in vain!

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Hi @shanedelierrr, Thanks again.

I will Investigate that problem further and if I don’t find someone who had this problem, I will post here.

    Hi @shandelierrr,

Thank you very much. I first did the old fashion path, then the v9.2+ path and “configure” now actually worked.

2FA up and running again. Thanks!

I did notice that the page Security -> User Security (wp-admin/admin.php?page=itsec-user-security) only quickly shows content and the renders gray.

    Are those two issues connected?

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Hi James,

Yeah, disconnecting and uninstalling Site Kit, as this is not compatible with the Swiss data protection act.

    Cheers,

    Hi James,

Thanks for getting back! No caching in place here. If I disable the Site Kit plugin, all code is gone.

I am a bit confused. I can clearly see the difference between the two code bits. But I can only get rid of the one I posted above, by disabling the plugin.

imho, if I set the Google Tag manager to not inject any code in Site Kit, it should NOT inject ANY code. But… the bit from my initial post remains…

How can I get rid of it? Can you expose that in the options?

Also, the snippet I posted above is looking for “UA-“, the other, which I can disable in the options, is targeting “GTA-“. Isn’t “UA-” deprecated?

    Thanks,
    -Alex

EDIT: Even when the Google Tag Manager is disconnected in the settings, that code bit remains…

    @mguenter Danke für den Zuanpfahl!

Genial, kann man ja jedes einzeln zurücksetzten!

    Hey @mguenter !

Danke dir.

    Cheers

    Addendum. Sorry for double posting!

But… I wanted to go ahead and evaluate the plugin more, so I changed the language of the site after installing the plugins. As described none of the texts change (legal matters).

Btw, it seems that switching the language also removes the Service groups. At least the plugin thinks so. I get following message when adding a service in the “Gruppe” section of the service: “Die Service-Gruppe, in der dieser Service normalerweise platziert wird (Funktional), wurde von Ihnen gel?scht. Bitte weisen Sie den Service selbst einer Gruppe zu.” But it’s still there, just in English. Seems that something is hard-coded there ??

Now… How can I start from scratch and get the plugin to fresh install in the desired language? Since I will probably buy at least 3 seats, I want to re-initiate the install… Because all the texts, in the customizer are now in English, and I need them in German.

    Hi @shalomt,

    Thanks for the advice.

I did regenerate the .htaccess file as described in the article. But when I compare the old file with the regenerated one, the commented section remains commented.

Since you say that it isn’t a security issue to leave the lines commented out, I will leave it like this, until it becomes a problem again. Hoping that this will be fixed in a future releases.

    Thanks,
    Alex

EDIT: In fact, if I save the .htacces file empty and follow the permalink procedure, the file remains empty after saving the permalinks.

The article on iThemes help page, which sounds related to my problem, is not reachable: https://ithemes.com/forum/index.php?/topic/18445-restored-site-now-wont-load-and-cant-log-in/#p86642

After logging in I get the main support portal.

So yeah, I have a working site, with the lines commented out and I don’t understand the problem. So as said above, I will let it be for now.

I wasn’t able to find a fix either. Maybe it would help to give the developer access to my site?

    Thanks @poonam9 .

So it is a PHP 8 issue that I can not add a second PPPOM und 7.4?

    Thread Starter alFrame

    (@alframe)

    Thanks @poonam9 !

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I disabled everything except WooCommerce and PPOM. The problem persisted.

And twice sorry, you already asked for the URL, here you go: https://blueten-bijou.ch/shop/

And here to product page (with one PPPOM “Begleitkarte”): https://blueten-bijou.ch/produkt/blumenstrauss/

I worry a little bit about switching to PHP 8, as there are many plugins on this site. Can you recommend a plugin, or something else to test the WP installation against PHP 8?
