I’ve taken a look a the incompatible plugins list and deactivated the plugins that I had installed. Still no luck.

That was the problem. Had excerpts turned off for some reason in my theme settings. Turned them on and the excerpt is now displaying. Thanks for the swift reply.

The language of my WP administration is Dutch (Nederlands). I’ve tried switching between English and Dutch to see if that might affect anything. No luck, unfortunately.
