Did this ever happen again?
Are there strange characters in the filename? The only thing that comes to mind is that I’m not escaping them properly.
The directory checking will disappear in the next version. Hang tight…
Thanks ntrantham — I’ll get this done in the next version.
Alex
If you’re uncomfortable with the command line I’d stay away from the script. Never run anything on your server you don’t understand.
That said, I use it all the time.

This feature was never really ready for prime-time, so I disabled it temporarily. It will hopefully be back in the near future.
Version 1.2.8 should resolve this, available any minute now. Let me know if you run into any other issues.
Cheers,
There’s currently a bug in the plugin on Windows servers. I’ll be addressing that shortly.
I seemed to have had some SVN issues. Should be updated any minute now.
A very good point Daiv.
Hi Bob – version 1.2.7 of WP Smush.it works around that JSON error.
There isn’t currently a function to do that, mostly because I wouldn’t want to put that much strain on Yahoo!’s servers.
If you have a lot of images you might find this bash script useful: https://gist.github.com/211082 It does the same thing as the WP plugin.
@andyhowardidau and @digital_k I’m about to release a fix for that JSON error. I ran into the same issue described on this Trac ticket.
Let me know if you have any other issues.
Cheers, Alex
