Awesome — I started creating a version like this but had to abandon due to a lack of time. For anyone with control over their servers I would recommend using something like this.

Can you post the exact error message?

Theme smushing could definitely return. I’ll put it back on the list.

I’ll look into the non-media library files, too. Can either of you explain the rationale? How are you using images that aren’t in the library on your sites?

Regarding image quality and rich blacks, there’s not much that I can do. All the processing is done on Yahoo!’s servers — the plugin just transfers the files between the two.

Bulk smush will no-longer re-smush previously successful images, so it will be much faster and easier to recover from timeouts, etc…

That’s super strange. I had to push out the 1.4.2 release today to reduce the load on Yahoo’s servers. I’ll investigate this issue and try to get a fix out promptly.

Sadly, no — it’s a limitation of the Smush.it API.

I’m not sure what their policy is. When I first built the plugin I asked them for permission and they said it was okay to use their API. Over the years their policies have been a little vague — I’ve posted in Yahoo!’s “Exceptional Performance” group whenever I needed a clarification, and they’ve been pretty responsive.

I’d try there.

Can you provide any more info? What’s the domain, what’s the folder structure you’re using for your uploads? Can you post the exact error messages?
