I understand now that SEO plugins add these custom fields – I thought these were available at the getgo. I also found a workaround already to this issue, but I’ll try the hooks as well.

I’ll also add another star since I might have been wrong about this.

Is the REST API method for Pro users only? I’ve been using AIOSEO plugin for years just the free version, but now I have the need to update my meta descriptions automatically over REST API. I’d like to use AIOSEO plugin free version for now, but I’d like my meta descriptions free for me to modify over API with the free version. As far as I understand it, this is impossible.

However, meta descriptions should be free for me to edit programmatically without the plugin. If it’s not possible to edit with the plugin, that means the plugin has taken my meta description hostage, because I was using the typical WP fields for meta descriptions. I also tried the custom AIOSEO fields, but I may have missed the true names of these fields…

All I want is to send meta descriptions in my ‘post_data’ over REST API, that is all. I thought there was an option that would allow me to do this.

P.S. I will give one more star because the plugin deserves it, but I’m not happy that I cannot edit my meta descriptions.

I’m looking into ways to programmatically update meta descriptions for my posts in batch. I understand some functionalities are available with a Pro subscription, but I’m interested in knowing if there are any hooks or developer resources available for users of the free version that would allow updating meta descriptions through custom development.

Any guidance or resources you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

This is still not fixed? There have been so many updates and still this happens. I guess there is no other way than to code my own plugin. btw, your other blocks are broken, too. The one that lists blog posts? Last time I used it was both high in resources as well as glitchy as hell. Lost so much time trying to make it right (my theme is GeneratePress).

Just mentioning since I’m deleting your plugin. I cannot have questionable plugins on my site. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies.

I’ve used “Boxed” version for the end of the posts. I’ve now switched to “Centered” and looks better.

But the one under the title still looks a bit cheap and barebones. I’ve just played with it a bit, and I will have to decide on this tomorrow. There are many options to fix this, I just wish there were some templates where I wouldn’t have to spent this time dealing with design. Or am I missing something and there are some templates to use?

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve realized I already knew how to do everything Shortpixel does. Therefore, I’ve deleted the Shortpixel plugin for 3 of my websites.?This turned out to be a time and energy sink for me, and I had to deal with it.

I soppose you’ve missed it, but I’ve mentioned this above. I’ve tried clearing the queue many times with no luck.

However, in the interest of resolving this, I tried it once more just now and I got the same results. The image is queued, and when I reloaded the Library WP page, the image is just waiting to be processed. Nothing happens.

Forgot to let you know, the issue was resolved. Ezoic was automatically converting images and there was some issues on their backend. All good now.

It seems like Ezoic caused this. Either I, or someone else enabled automatic conversions to webp. They just informed me they need to fix this in the backend, as I manually can’t do this for some reason.

I’ll let you know once they fix this.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will help me. It’s surprising that AIOSEO doesn’t have this function, as it seems like a useful addition to an SEO plugin.

Though it may be just a minor thing that improves user experience, it’s still an improvement, and I hope it is added in the future.
