Specifying the real fully qualified URL of
“https://www.mysite.org/B”, which is no doubt what Nick intended, works as well.

Thanks for the quick turn, Nick.. Cockpit error – I had left the URL blank. And yes, main => root. My WordPress installation is in subdirectory “A” and my phpbb is in “B”. Specifying the fully qualifed URL of
“www.mysite.org/B”
generated the link
https://www.mysite.org/A/www.mysite.org/B/viewtopic blah blah

Specifying the URL as
../B
works perfectly
