Yes, that’s a premium feature and we can’t discuss that on the free forums.
Sure, the staging site is separated from the production site, so nothing on the production site can affect the staging site and the opposite is true as well.
Hi,
Thanks for asking this question.
Yes, sure you can test any kind of updates (WordPress core, plugin, theme) on the staging site, and when you are sure it’s all good, you can replicate that on the production site and delete the staging site.
By default the staging site will be at a sub-directory of your production site, something like (example.com/staging/), so you can easily access the staging site’s folder via FTP the same way you do for the production site.
Cheers,
Alaa
Hi Adela!
I understand you did this modification on the live site first, then you updated the staging site but you didn’t get the same modification you did on the theme file, right? Please contact us here with more details about:
– Which theme file you edited.
– What exactly was the modification you made (a screenshot will be helpful).
– A link to your live and staging sites.and we will help you further from there.
Thanks,
AlaaHi @iguanamom
Sorry for the delayed reply. Please check your database table “wp_options” and search for “upload_path” meta key, most probably the incorrect path is defined there, you need to remove the whole path (take a copy of it first as a backup), then leave the “upload_path” empty.
If that wasn’t the case, then please send us your site’s system information via this form: (from WP STAGING > System Info)
https://wp-staging.com/support/and we will help you further from there,
Thanks,
AlaaHi @seotaro
This might be caused by a SEO related plugin added to the staging site, but by default we add “noindex” tag to the staging site, so the site will not be added to Google index. Thanks,
AlaaHi @ctambun
The backup feature only exists in the Pro version, and we can’t discuss Pro features here on the free forums, so if you are running the Pro version and have any questions related to it, please create a new support ticket here:

AlaaHi @estrylez
Yes, sure you can.You already confirmed that “wp_” tables aren’t used any more and you had a backup of them, so all good, feel free to drop these tables.
Thanks,
AlaaHi @colinspurs

AlaaHi there!
Could you please try adding “/wp-login.php” to the end of the staging site’s URL and log in from there? Please let me know the response you will get, a screenshot would be helpful.Another question, does your password contain any special characters?
And you can disable “wp-staging” plugin on the staging site by changing its folder name via FTP, this won’t affect your staging site in any mean, it will just disable the extra login form we add, so users would be able to log in via the default WordPress method (the one I described above).
Thanks,
Alaa`Hi,

P.S. “Disable admin authorization” on the live site will disable this extra login form on any staging site you create in the future, not the current ones you have.
Thanks,
AlaaHi there!
Thanks for asking this question.By default WP STAGING plugin will limit access to the staging site for admin users only, if you want to disable this feature, check (WP STAGING > Settings > Disable admin authorization) on the staging site.
There are other options to do that in the Pro version, feel free to reach out to us via this form to learn more about them as we aren’t allowed to discuss any thing related to the Pro version here on the forums.
Thanks,
AlaaHi @munichparis
