To be clear, I want to have a menu option along the top where someone can click on the menu button and get a full calendar that shows everything that the admin calender shows….

Steve, I have managed to put the Events Widget on one of my sidebars but the event page (the single event) looks distorted. Also, I have multiple events on one day so therefore the widget view, I think, isn’t going to do me well.

I have been looking at short codes and confess, I don’t know where to put it. Post Editor? Do you mean when you create an event, use the short code somewhere in those fields down near the bottom or do you mean I have to go into the actual code using perl or something and change code?

Updated: I have fixed the reoccuring post problem and now seem to have a list posted on my menu. I want it to be the calendar view. Getting there. Help!

Thanks. I have downgraded for now back down to 1.6.5 but plan on building a new site within a few months. I am going to use TEC Pro plus 2.0 on that new version of our Web site. I could try to get you the database. I don’t mind that. I’ll see what I can do.

Seriously, thanks for all your help. Even though I still downgraded, the fact that you took time to help me, an idiot when it comes to this, made the decision to use the fee-based version an easy one when we go with the new version. Quality person, you are my friend. Thanks.

Shane, I am buying Pro as soon as I get approval from the board I work for. It seems too good of a deal to pass up and with reoccuring events, you can’t beat that. I still have one question to ask, and I didn’t get it answered in another thread. I realize you are busy and don’t have time to coddle. I appreciate it in advance and admit this whole mess was my fault by not turning off auto-update.

However, I can’t figure out why my old posts under 1.6.x can’t transfer over. They are all still there under my posts. Still as “events” category. But yet, no migrate data has appeared nor can I find a way to do it in either settings or the events tab. I watched all the videos I could and nothing. If I just have to re-enter, fine, and I’ll start but I’d appreciate any thoughts.

No, Rob, I am not getting that part, And I don’t see how I don’t have anything in the events category. I have 700 posts over the past year within that category according to my Dashboard. No clue of why they aren’t coming over…

I have not downgraded. I figured out how to make the 2.0 version work. At least, for now (see https://www.jewishpeoria.org). What I can’t find is the migrate data button. It’s not in Settings. It’s not in the Events tab along the left-hand side in the dashboard. And I can’t seem to find it in the other settings or anywhere in the plug-ins tab.

Okay, thanks. I got the calendar up and working. Now, I just wonder if I have to re-enter all my old posts. Again, I am an idiot. There, I am honest. I had it set on auto-update and that was a mistake. Just let me know if I have to redo several months worth of posts… There is no import data button or icon.

Help, Shane. the plug-in auto updated. I didn’t realize I had it set that way and well, I don’t have a backup and I don’t have anything working at all. I went into the settings and set for the grid mode, I looked at the dashboard and went to the Events tab or section and made a few samples but nothing. I watched a few of the videos you posted and so far, nothing that you did works for me. I am running 3.2.1 WordPress and Atahualpa theme that is a few versions old but works fine with the WordPress.

I am not a programmer, don’t claim to be but need some help. I work for a nonprofit as a volunteer and well, am at a loss. Help please. https://www.jewishpeoria.org. Thanks.

Thanks for the information. I am just going to reinstall 3.0.2 and see if that works. It’s my fault for upgrading too soon. Most times, I wait until the last minute to make sure all the bugs are out.

Is there a way for me to add events without them showing up as posts? I am setting up a Web site and want the events to show up on the Events page. Also can I remain the Events page?
