I’ve experienced a very similar problem. Activating The Events Calendar causes me to be unable to login to my admin panel.
The temporary fix is to just delete the Events Calendar folder.
It’s breaking the admin section with one of its the admin_menu actions, but I haven’t spent enough time in the code yet to figure out exactly why.
