I cant chmod .htacess file. Please tell how to do that. My Ftp client reply is:”550 Could not change perms on .htaccess: Operation not permitted”.

Check for file /wp-admin/install.php. Upload if not found.

I found .htaccess file using filezilla(Ftp client). But cannot change file permission to 666. Filezilla’s response is “550 Could not change perms on .htaccess: Operation not permitted”. What should I do now?

I did what you said and it worked fine…..
I changed ‘month and names’ to ‘default’ in settings->permalinks->commonsettings. That changed https://vidblades.co.cc/join/ to https://vidblades.co.cc/?page_id=7…..

But I when I changed ‘Default’ to ‘months and names’, Same problem too came back.

I prefer ‘months and names’ in the settings because something like https://vidblades.co.cc/?page_id=7 doesnt make any sense….

I am using “hostbot” as my webhost.

I deleted the first DB and DB user that I have created and the created another DB and DB user. But the problem is still there…

I have another site hosted on the same webhost, for which on clicking subdirectories will give 404-not found page.
eg: vidblades.co.cc/join

For that, DB_Host is ‘localhost’.

Hello……I uploaded the hole thing to another host and everything is fine there. I cant understand what went wrong with the previous one and I couldn’t trace anything. I prefer the previous host. So if possible please figure out the problem.
