I have the same issue. I insert only one image to my product page. I set it as insert single product thumbnail. When I click on the thumbnail in my product page, it enlarges to its original size, but there is an additional image behind the enlarged picture (slightly smaller)and it is the same image. This is for all my products. I have to hit close on the first image and then the second image.
