so is everyone who has a multisite install having this exact same problem?

ive switched themes since and i am still experiencing issues when pulling featured images from subsites,
from your answer i guess as the image isnt copied over then theres no way to get the image to display however is there not a way to fix this?

thing is im trying to disable certain items from the admin panel of each subsite,

im using Admin Menu Editor to do this, however when i make adjustments to the admin menu the effects also happen to my blog account which is supposed to be superadmin privs…

i was thinking if i could find a plugin to disable Admin Menu Editor on my personal account, i could then network activate AME for the rest of the subsites…

doesnt seem to be anthing in the network admin dashboard for the menu editor or the restrict multisite plugin..

that plugin is almost what i want however it wont allow for plugins already network-wide to be disabled on certain sites- as once a plugin is network enabled, it wont show up in the plugins list and neither will it show for the restrict multisite plugins application you suggested…

i reckon spence is right in editing the page,

could turn it into a welcome screen lol?

if anyone finds a proper resolution to this id like to know as i too have search countless times to find absolutely nothing regarding our error…

thanks for the response, the situation is as follows…

the people who register for my blog are doing so just to post content and images… they have no use for plugins as i am selecting what they can and cant use from the getgo.

if indeed they do need admin privileges could i just assign admin rights to those who truly need them from the super network admin dashboard?

i will check out the plugins suggested but ideally id like to achieve what i set out initially

one other important question, before i do as you suggested, i would need a way to prevent swt from forwarding visitors to the subsites on each pulled post – in other words as the site wide tags plugin duplicates the content from subsites and links the content to the pages it pulled it from, how would one go about adapting the site wide tags plugin to not forward visitors to the subsites and instead direct them to the main pages archive/blog instead?

this ofcourse wouldnt be against googles search rules as we have already disabled search results for all subsites..

i hope thats not to wordy, im not the best an explaining what i mean sometimes! thanks for the advice thus far!

is there anyway to hide subsites content but have google find the full content on the main blog instead?

so visitors use the main site rather than the individual blogs within?

as ghozt’s question has been resolved i thought id add another one which is related somewhat,

im trying to add / or replace that logout button to “dashboard” instead
so when im logged in i can enter the dashboard from the site aswell as the redirect after login…

i have no reason to sign out of my own page so thought that changing the logout button would save some time instead of adding a dashboard button?

alternatively is there a way to add a dynamic menu in wordpress the dashboard menu link is displayed only when logged in?

the home page is the default posts page, at least for now anyways… il take a look at the settings menu but i cant say I have noticed anything to suggest this.

i have had a play with the footer css and although i havent coded anything proper yet it does at least force the widgets to function, even if it is displayed incorrectly.

il prob have to work on that for a bit… thanks for your help thus far!

loool, i was impressed thanks… if you like you could regain yourself by helping me out with one final issue i have…

im using footer widgets in the widgets menu of wordpress however when i add say twitter, facebook, acheives, links etc to each footer 1, 2, 3 etc… they dont want to appear on the site.

the side widgets work flawlessly.
and yes i have made sure to click the save button on each footer widget before checking the site.

issue resolved,

thanks to deepbevel who suggested to check the plugins… i bulk deactivated them and refreshed the webpage – conflicting word vanished.
so i activated them all and deactivated one at a time.

found he culprit!
