Just thought id post the solution to this, its not the best in the world but it does work.

Because it only effects the selected pages you tried to use the plugin in on. Just copy the pages content into notepad to keep the correct format and re post the content with the same title and content. Making sure to note the url of the page to readd the content at the old url addresses to avoid any broken links.

Just thought id post a update on how i fixed this for anybody that stumbles upon this thread in the future.

All i did was ftp the whole site onto my desktop, scan the folder using avast! which gave me a list of the files that were infected them and then replaced them with clean WordPress files. rescanned with avast, everything was clean. Then I just ftp’d it back up and then rebuilt the database by going to the sites url.

Done ??

that worked fine for the cpanel access and installing WordPress but if i navigate to the temp url im still seeing the original placeholder?

Is there anyway to access the wordpress admin section or am i restricted to cpanel and ftp access at this stage?

I just thought i would post my ‘solution’ to this problem.

I ended up moving the wordpress install out of its sub domian and placing it on the main directory.

Hi all,

Using cmd.exe to ping the websites domain gives me the ip address 27.54.85.129. This in turn gives me “the default Web Site Page” and not the WordPress install/actual website.

Using the cmd.exe to ping the server was the first way i went about finding the ip address. But it does not return the actual WordPress install/site which leaves me stumped. I tried pinging the wordpress install/sub domain (www.tasmaniancomputerstoresguide.com.au/testsite2) but that yields an error in the cmd window.

Any ideas would be muchly appreciated

I have checked all through my server control panel(cpanel) with no luck.

I followed your advance and have sent off an email to my host (crazy domains) but experience tells me that they will not reply or will take there time.

Do you or anybody happen to know an alternative?
