Here is what I did to reproduce the bug:
0. Using WordPress 3.8.1, default theme, and Jetpack 2.9.2
1. Prepared about 12 posts on my localhost WP installation. This is to trigger pagination on my front page (which is my latest posts).
2. From Widgets page in my admin area, I configured my search widget to hide if page is front page.
3. When I open my front page, which is currently showing the first page of my latest posts, the search widget is hidden.
4. If I open the next page of my latest posts, the search widget is displayed again.
5. If edit visibility options for my search widget to: hide if page is posts page, the search widget is never hidden.

It looks like you have many scripts on your page that are breaking each others. When I open the console in Chrome I see lots of red lines with several exceptions.
The button is causing the page to scroll to the top, because the JavaScript code that is supposed to show the hidden sharing buttons is broken, which leaves the button as simple anchor tag with an href attribute value of “#”, which causes the browser to go to the top of the page.

Make sure your plugins are compatible.

I was about to suggest removing the sharing title, as the sharing button already have that, but you’ve already fixed it.

Contributors’ posts will have the sharing buttons if the publisher has checked the “show sharing buttons” option in the editor, and sharing buttons are being displayed on posts.

Keep in mind that sharing buttons are not shown on the post preview page.

Tested using the same configurations (WP 3.8.1, no other plugin, default theme), everything is fine!

Where does the message appear? I might have missed it!

Looks like they are compatible.

I deactivated Jetpack Markdown and activated MoS Improved and everything worked fine.
I got the post content in the text editor in markdown.
When I deactivated both, I got the post content in the text editor in html.

Do you mean it did not activate at all?
Or when you try to preview/publish markdown formatted content?

Thank you for the link, I was not aware of it. I actually use Codestyling Localization. It is a year old now, but still working fine.

I found a year old response to a similar request, but has not yet been implemented.
