Yes, in Polylang Pro (only in Pro) you can also translate the slug value. So in my WP i have 3 languages – my native (not English, without any prefix), Slovak language (sk prefix) and English language (en in prefix). In Polylang Pro I can translate also the slug value, so I translated the word “page”, then the pagination is like this:

mydomain/stranka/3/ (“stranka” is “page” in my native language)
mydomain/sk/stranka/3/ (“stranka” is also a “page” in Slovak language)
mydomain/en/page/3/ (English language)

After Yoast SEO update, only the English version of pagination stopped working (404 error). Pagination in my native language and Slovak language is still working.

I can fix that by going to Polylang PRO translated strings, changing the value for a “page” in English (which is a “page”) to something else and immediatelly set it back to the word “page”. This is working until the next Yoast SEO update, then this situation happens again (Polylang PRO doesn’t have frekvent updates).

yes, you are right, this is exactly, what is caused by Polylang Pro. But this is not the problem I described above. Sorry, if this was confusing.

My problem is, that PAGINATION itself stops working.

For example, my pages like:
exampledomain/en/page/2/
exampledomain/en/page/3/
etc.
returns 404 error code.

And it is somehow bounded to word “page”, because pagination in other languages are working OK. And this problem is caused immediatelly after Yoast SEO update (probably because it rewrite some value in the database).

1. Captcha protection in your first part of answer is avaliable only for paying customers, it is not available in free version, right?
2. If I turn off the option mentioned in the second part of your answer, only the users, which have also an account (and are logged in) in my WordPress have the possibility to add themselves to the list, right?
