In reply to: Tampa, St Pete Florida area WPThere is a Tampa Bay area WordPress meetup that seems to be quite active:

In reply to: Uploading ImagesThis could be any number of things, potentially a permissions error with your hosting account, potentially an issue with file upload size in your PHP configuration, possibly other things.
Assuming you’re not running your own server, I would contact the support department at your web hosting company; they should be able to look into server error logs to figure out what’s going on.

In reply to: Uploading ImagesWhen you say you’re “having trouble uploading images” what do you mean? Are you getting an error? If so, what does the error message say?

In reply to: Images not displaying properly in Win XP and IEFair point Steve. One option would be to remove the Lightbox plugin and just use the built-in image features in WordPress. It won’t be as great of an experience for users with modern systems/browsers, but it will be functional for everyone.

In reply to: Custom Table in WP DBWell, no, I can’t say I know of a plugin that’s already built that does that. I’m reminded of this article: https://chrislema.com/cant-afford-wordpress-plugin-want/
You might be able to use one of the powerful forms plugins, like Gravity Forms, to build most of the input, but at the point where you’re talking about then presenting it back to the user for more custom work, what you’re really looking at is a pretty-specific web application.
Have you considered doing this entirely outside of WordPress? Do do it in WP it really ought to be a plugin…

In reply to: PNG black backgroundLooks like the file itself is corrupt at: https://jperlman.valleryarts.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/contactdesign1-1024×887.png
I attempted to open the file in Photoshop and am receiving an error that the file format module cannot parse the file.
Unless you’ve run a plugin or something to alter the images on your site, I’m not sure this is a WordPress issue. Have you tried replacing one of the images with a new copy to see what happens?

In reply to: Structured Data Testing Tool errorsIf your site is hosted on WordPress.com, you should contact the WordPress.com support folks via https://en.support.wordpress.com/
Most of the answers you’ll get here on www.remarpro.com are for self-hosted sites where you have the ability to edit files and plugins – which isn’t possible with WordPress.com so they’ll be able to offer your more appropriate answers.

In reply to: Custom Table in WP DBHm…. I can’t say I’ve ever heard of anyone trying to store data inside the WordPress database but not do it as a WordPress plugin, but I suppose you’re not the first. Seems like a fragile recipe to me.
It doesn’t surprise me that plugins designed to manage the WordPress database wouldn’t show tables that aren’t part of WordPress or that weren’t added via the usual WordPress database interfaces.
I’m not sure what to suggest other that to build it as a WP plugin which should allow it to play nicely with WordPress.

In reply to: Custom Table in WP DBIf you’re writing a WordPress plugin and need to store the data (routines in this case?), here’s a good place to start on how to do that:

In reply to: WordPress SEO IssueWith all due respect, Google and Bing and other search engines don’t care about “the look” of your website – they’re going to try to serve the most relevant results to searchers based on the search queries. If a user is searching in English, search engines are going to find that English language content will be most relevant (much like if they were searching in Hindi, or another foreign language, the search engines would prioritize results in that language).
If you want to rank highly for English keywords, you need to provide substantial content in English, not just meta descriptions.

In reply to: Picture sizingIt appears that the stylesheet is forcing the width to 522 pixels. If you’re working with a developer already on this, it’s probably best to have that same developer address this issue as it’s a styling problem.

In reply to: Enable Students at a School Access to SiteGiven that the answer to this is going to be specific to the member system you’re using (S2 Member Pro), you should contact the support channels (forum, email, etc.) for that plugin. It looks like they have several support options available on their website under the “Help/Docs” menu at the top:

In reply to: Random Header ImagesAh ok, my mistake. I didn’t realize that was part of Twenty Eleven. I’m not familiar with that theme or that functionality so I’ll need to defer to someone who’s worked with it before.
