Aha, “flex”. No idea what it means. But it works! Thanks ??
I assume that it’s down to some evil plugin that I’ve installed, so I’ll have to keep an eye open whenever I add a new one or get an upgrade.
Hi Sadik,
I was wrong – it’s not me, I was obviously having a bad day. I thought I’d fixed it because I removed a whole section of CSS from my website, but it turns out I was looking at the wrong website. So the issue is still there and actually, I have very little custom CSS.This is either the style or some other plugin is messing it up.
I tried adding this CSS but it had no effect:
@media only screen and (max-width:481px) { .primary-menu-container { display: inline !important; } }
Ah, my bad ??
Oh I see – it really is spectacularly badly worded by the, well, whole world. Everyone should be saying “identification cookies”, and not just “cookies” as though there’s no exception.
Thanks.
Hi Web Toffee,
thanks for the reply but you have just caused my mind to melt ??
Unfortunately according to my understanding of the GDPR law, there is no such thing as a “strictly necessary” cookie, so hitting the Reject button should prevent 100% of all cookies and therefore cause the cookie banner to appear on every page load.
I’ll check up on this with my colleagues who might know more about it and get back to you. If it’s true, then I’ll have to find a replacement for this otherwise great plugin ??
OK, thanks for the work-around.
Do you see it as an issue with Social Sharing that you can fix, or is it a problem with the Ultimate Blocks Post Grid?
Well, no I can’t post a screenshot actually, but try loading it with this link, the anchor tag should position the Post Grid block right in your browser window.

It’s the image, title and excerpt, titled “Michael Mann…”
Solved ??
Great! Thanks for the detective work! It is actually Hummingbird that’s doing the minifying, but it has a similar exclusion mechanism.
Hi Alexis, that’s pretty awesome, thanks for the styling lesson.
That will be fine for the time being and hopefully you guys will create a special Team Member block.
I think it’s cool that you offer a good, simple collection of blocks which work well but you don’t clutter up WP with a bunch of templates that no-one ever uses or drown the user with adverts for supposedly fantastic premium functionality.
Thanks v. much!
OK, I’m not sure though, I was advised to avoid re-using keywords by another SEO expert as well as yourself. I will go over the material you link to and possibly seek out some more tutorials to deepen my knowledge on the subject! It all seems like an art form rather than a science.

In reply to: Content card for a single page on my own siteWP Embeds is not making my life easy here – I’m using many WP Embeds blocks on one page and I don’t think it is ideal for performance, because each item creates an iframe within the page which generates a whole swathe of new requests back to the server.
Overkill considering the posts are all on the same website.
Plus the layout of the image and the text is unpredictable. Sometimes the image is left, sometimes above, sometimes thumbnail, sometimes large.
Am I going nuts? I think I’m the only person in the world wanting to set up a page with many of my posts linked via content cards? Surely there is a preferable Gutenberg block to WP Embeds?
