String Locator found no results! WTF?

So @threadi if something off-site is linking to my site with this parameter, why does Google Search Console think this is anything to do with me? I thought it only operated on URLs which it spidered from my website where my internal links (without ‘noindex’) linked.

I don’t want to tell you your job, since you probably know more than me, but I thought that CCS as in “Cascading Style Sheets” meant that a tag will inherit its style, if left unset? Surely it would be easier by default to have no settings for all the tags? That way in my example now, if I wanted a bigger font than default, I just need to set it once on body?

I’m not sure what you mean but it sounds like the kind of block that comes with Ultimate Blocks and other plugins, where the block will create a list of matching posts, depending on what date or category or tag you enter. I did think about using such plugin blocks, but I figured I would ask if there is a standard block that I didn’t recognise which does the job.

I found several blocks which looked useful like “Post Title” and “Extract” but they only show the title or the extract for the page you are editing. There is a link field to enter a URL, but it doesn’t seem to operate the way it should if it does what I thought it would do.

I wonder if you came across the problem on mobile devices and tablets – if someone reading my website turns their screen, it flips from portrait to landscape or the other way around. So I’m trying to work out what the best image proportion would be.

If I make it too portrait for mobile devices, it will look terrible if the user turns the phone to landscape orientation.

thanks for the run-down and the tip regarding FSE. It sounds fascinating. Before I launch myself into an investigation, can you briefly say how FSE relates to Gutenberg? I have recently defended the WP Gutenberg editor against evangelical attacks by advocates for Elementor for instance, so I’m getting emotionally invested in it ?? Am I right in thinking that FSE would work well with Gutenberg, and only acts as a replacement for the Customizer?

I was wrong – it’s not me, I was obviously having a bad day. I thought I’d fixed it because I removed a whole section of CSS from my website, but it turns out I was looking at the wrong website. So the issue is still there and actually, I have very little custom CSS.

This is either the style or some other plugin is messing it up.

I tried adding this CSS but it had no effect:

 }
}
