First off, thanks for reaching out to us, and sorry for the inconvenience. Would you please confirm if you have applied any customization to the previous plugin or inserted any scripts to fetch the data from any third-party services?
According to our initial finding, the error has been raised from the vBulletin scripts which are not even included in our earlier versions.

Alternatively, you can delete the current plugin and upload/activate the 2.0.3 module to confirm if it will work for you:

Since the released version is the major update for the plugin in order to give a facility to select single or multiple authors for any post, would you please mention if you are facing any difficulties for any special case? First off, we are really sorry for the inconvenience. For the “black” line on the about us page, we found there’s an empty “gallery-item” which only has an empty “gallery-caption” part. The first solution is to remove the empty thing from your page, it is easy while looking at the page in WordPress code editor mode.

Secondly, you can just add the following CSS to your Additional CSS section under Appearance>Customize to hide them.

    display: none;
}

While talking about google recognization, the theme is only responsible for the appearance of the site but not for any other functionalities and operations. Most probably, you might have added google custom scripts to the previous theme before. Would it be possible to come up with the details to support so that we could help you specifically?

Since the major update of the both parent (CoverNews) and child (HardNews) have applied default WordPress’s image fetching functionality in order to optimize SEO (image title, alt, ) and speed-up the site loading time (Lazy loading).
