In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] Gateway not workingHi toniallan,
Thank you for your message.
The Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce plugin uses WordPress’s get_site_url function to determine the Website URL. This core function applies the following filters:
- “site_url”
It’s possible that a third-party plugin is manipulating this URL in certain conditions. Please try disabling all non-essential plugins.

In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] 403 ForbiddenHi fairykim99,
Thanks for your message. The team have investigated the behaviour reported and were unable to identify any applicable 403 responses from the Afterpay API. Usually, a 403 response is triggered by the API when the Merchant account has not yet been approved for transactions. However, the team can confirm that the relevant Merchant account is approved, and has been for some time.
To have a support technician assigned to this individual case for further investigation, please create a support ticket here:
https://help.afterpay.com/hc/en-au/requests/new?ticket_form_id=193406
Under “Main Reason for Contact”, please select “Help With Integration”. The assigned technician will request access to the WordPress admin to replicate the error page and provide explanation and solution advice.Thank you.
Hi Kristin,
Thanks for your message. The team can confirm that after version 1.3.1, “WooCommerce Afterpay Gateway” was renamed to “Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce” in version 2.0.0. The reason for the change was related to compliance with plugin naming conventions for the WordPress Plugin Directory.
Regarding the challenges reported with wholesale pricing, please consider backing up the website and database prior to migrating to the new Afterpay plugin.
If challenges persist, please request a member of the support team to provide individual assistance by creating a support ticket here:
https://help.afterpay.com/hc/en-au/requests/new?ticket_form_id=193406Thank you.
Hi cristal1312,
Thanks for reporting this behaviour.
The team has inspected the checkout via the link provided and found Afterpay to be appearing correctly.
Please note that Solace Sleep have a maximum Afterpay order value of $1,000.00 AUD. Order attempts exceeding this limit will not display Afterpay as an available option at the checkout.
Thank you.

In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] Afterpay – Woocommerce IssueHi lalarnz,
Thanks for reporting this behaviour.
This is a known item, usually caused by a third-party plugin causing a fatal error during the processing of the WooCommerce order creation hooks, thus interrupting the finalisation of the Afterpay process. Please check the PHP error logs around the time of the payment approval.
The Afterpay development team are aware of this challenge and conducting further investigation internally.
In the meantime, please note that any unfulfillable orders can be refunded via the Afterpay Merchant Portal.
Thank you.

In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] Shortcode in Divi ThemeHi Kate,
Thanks for your message and for reporting a potential conflict with the Divi Theme builder plugin. The team can confirm that compatibility with this third-party plugin has not been specifically tested.
This report has been documented internally and will be scheduled for further investigation. Any update to the plugin will be released via the official WordPress plugin directory.
In the meantime, please note that the “[AMOUNT]” placeholder is not technically a shortcode. The Afterpay plugin searches for and replaces this string manually as part of the methods attached to the various WooCommerce hooks. Please have the Radha Rani development team refer to the reference below for instructions on attaching the Afterpay methods to custom hooks instead of the defaults.
Alternatively, please consider removing the instalment calculations from the product pages and instead implementing a simplified message. For example:
- Make 4 equal payments with Afterpay.
- Available as 4 interest-free payments, thanks to Afterpay.
- Pay by instalments with Afterpay.
Thank you.

In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] WordPress error log: wc_doing_it_wrongHi trcyshw,
Thanks for raising this item. The deprecation notice reported above has been addressed in the latest version of the Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce plugin (v2.0.4). Please look out for the update coming soon via the standard update interface within the WordPress admin.
93bjones,
What you have described above suggests a separate item – a conflict with a third party plugin. It’s been reported that some plugins attach custom meta data to order line items, which may create challenges when Afterpay is the selected payment method. These challenges have also been addressed in the latest version of the plugin (v2.0.4). Please stand by for an update in the next few days.
Thank you both for your comments.

In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] How much to use this pluginHi jussie11,
Thanks for your question.
The “Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce” plugin itself is free. There are no charges associated with installing or operating the plugin, or using any of its features.
However, in accordance with the Afterpay Merchant Agreement, “Approved” order transactions placed with the Afterpay Service will incur a Merchant Fee.
Please liaise with your Afterpay Business Development Manager for further information. If you haven’t yet applied for an Afterpay Merchant account, please feel free to apply online here:

In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] Pay Over Time payment informationHi leestaszynski,
Thanks for sharing a link to a page that demonstrates the behaviour described. The only product on this page that doesn’t render the Afterpay elements at the time of viewing is one with variable pricing. Variably priced products weren’t supported in a previous version of the plugin.
Afterpay logs confirm that Auswide Office Furniture are not using the latest version. Please consider doing a full backup, deactivating the WooCommerce Afterpay Gateway plugin, then installing the latest version of the Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce plugin.
Refer to the guides below to install the new plugin and ensure the configuration is updated to utilise the latest features:

Hi kendots,
Thanks for reaching out. This error message indicates that one or both of the “Merchant ID” and “Secret Key” are configured incorrectly within the plugin settings page.
Please ensure the values are entered exactly as provided by the Merchant Services team, without any extra white-space characters or other non-alphanumeric characters.

In reply to: [Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce] Multiple issues such as Bad GatewayHi webmastersdigital,
Thank you for reporting these two items.
1. The “Bad Gateway” Page
This is the result of an unexpected network challenge occurring during the initialisation of the payment process. If faced with this particular scenario, the expectation is that the customer can simply close the popup or click the back button in their browser and try the transaction again.
Due to the nature of networking, it’s not possible to guarantee 100% reliability of internet communications between the many parties involved in a payment transaction. However, the Afterpay team are constantly working to improve the reliability of all aspects of the Afterpay payment platform.
2. Manual Payment with Afterpay for Existing WooCommerce Order
The standard payment flow does not create an order in the WooCommerce system until after a payment has been confirmed and approved by Afterpay. It was not anticipated that a customer may be given an existing order URL and attempt to choose Afterpay as the payment method and proceed. This scenario was therefore not tested during the development of the plugin. Thank you for identifying that the plugin does not offer this as a feature.
This is the first time that this particular feature has been requested. It has now been relayed to the development team for review and consideration in future plugin releases.
