I thought the cache would also be emptied when I click “delete cache” but obviously I had to do this in the plugin… After disabling the cache for the front page the solution worked.

I experienced the same issue yesternite, also using Bluehost.
Site down with fatal Jetpack error as in original post by James.

Reinstallation of Jetpack as per your instructions Jeremy above did not solve the issue.
Awaiting further instructions…
