In my opinion it is not safe. I had to deactivate the plugin in december 2020 because my site went down. Three months late i activated it again, but two hour later my site went down again. Now I have given up on WP Statistics, it is too risky. I use Google Analytics now and I am very happy.
The reason for the unstable plugin in my case might be that I have over 3000 posts in my site.
It is interesenting to hear what other users think.
I am sorry that I cannot answer your question directly, but my experience is that WP Statistics is nothing but trouble – it started about 4 months ago – after an update then my site went down. Fortunately I managed to deactivate the plugin. About three months later I activated the plugin again, hoping that the plugin was being fixed after several updates. About two hours later my site went down again.
WP Statistics is a very useful plugin, but it is too dangerous to use after an update in november/december 2020. As far as my site is conserned this plugin is history. I have been using Google Analytics for over a week now and I am very happy with it – it provides the statistics I need.
I just wanted to warn everyone. I used WP Statistics for several years and had no problem, but something happened to the plugin in 2020.

In reply to: WordPress 5.7 disappointsI just tried Spotlight mode now and I did not know it existed. Thank you for pointing this out. The problem is the implementation – the text dims for the blocks that are not active. The old way was far better – it was a small vertical line on the left side of the block. Dimming the rest of the block gives you less overview of all the blocks when you are editing a post.

In reply to: WordPress 5.7 disappointsBlock marker is not a bug. It is a function that was a part of WordPress earlier but it was removed in a recent version. This function marks which block is active. The active block gets a vertical hyphen on the left side to show which block is active. It makes life so much easier and it prevents the user from editing or deleting the wrong block. Why was this removed?

In reply to: Feature Request: A mark that shows which block is activeI dont consider this issue to be “Resolved”. I would like others to express their views on this.
I got an E_ERROR in version 13.0.2:
Uncaught Error: Class ‘WP_Statistics_Updates’ not found in line in the file class-wp-statistics-welcome.php
I had to deactivate the plugin and then everything was OK. I am looking for alternatives. Google Analytics looks promising.
Do you consider WP Statistics version 13.0.4 safe to use?

In reply to: Preview dropdown in wpadminMany users have complained about this before, but last time I mentioned this I was ridiculed here in the forum. Amazing how some users ignore the fact that this makes WordPress less user friendly.

In reply to: WordPress 5.6 is less userfriendlyI totally disagree. If you are building a site with Universal Design anyway you dont need multiple choices like this. This ruins the work flow.

In reply to: WordPress needs an update – here are my requestsThanks for your answer. I understand. I am just curious about why the developers would want to make WordPress less userfriendly. Why remove the frame around a block (indicating which block is active)? This was very useful for the workflow.

In reply to: WordPress needs an update – here are my requestsWordPress 5.5.1 is now out and nothing has changed it seems:
Important requests (still not implemented):
1. Preview of a post should be just one click.
2. There should be a viewable frame around a block to show which block is active. This makes workflow so much easier (why was this frame removed in 5.5?).

In reply to: Worst update since version 5.0I just experienced yet another flaw in WordPress 5.5
5. The active block locked itself on one place in a post in such a way that I could not edit any other block in the post. No matter how I clicked on any other block in the post, the active block would not change. I saw also a horisontal line to indicate the area of active block. The only way to change the active block was to save my work, leave the post, and go back in the post again. Then the situation was normal again.

In reply to: Block suggestion. Put the frame back on please. Why make WordPress less userfriendly? I hope this frame is back in the next WordPress-update.

In reply to: Worst update since version 5.0This list goes on. I discover new faults in WordPress 5.5.
4. If I copy HTML-block from an old post and paste it to a new post the HTML-code is pasted as a paragraph-block and not as HTML-block. This was not a problem before.
Why are you making WordPress less userfriendly?

In reply to: Worst update since version 5.0A part of the problem is not so much bloating but they are removing functions that make WordPress userfriendly. That is a mistery to me.

In reply to: Worst update since version 5.0I found the third UI-fault in WordPress 5.5.
3. The frame around an active block has been removed. If I want to remove a block I have no idea which block will be removed because no block is being marked as active. Only the blinking cursor shows which one.
Conclusion: WordPress 5.5 is less userfriendly
