Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that didn’t work. I deleted the uploads folder. WP creates a new uploads folder when the first upload is done. It did that but isn’t able to upload the image to it. I rechecked the permissions on all the folders on the path and they are all 777 including the new uploads folder created by wp. I can upload images to that folder by ftp so I assume the problem has something to do with how the image popup works when the image is uploaded. I saw a tutorial that showed how it is supposed to work but that’s not happening for me.

You enter database details in the wp-config.php file. Originally this was wp-config-sample.php. Refer to the install instructions in ReadMe.html which came with the files for full installation instructions.
When you find this enter ‘localhost’ in line 6, save (and change to wp-config.php if you haven’t done that already) and upload.

Hi, Thanks for response. I reinstalled and the field is there now but I still can’t upload. There are two upload buttons but neither works. One just deletes the file path the other gives the ‘cannot be uploaded to’ error message. I have checked all the folder permissions. They are set at 777. I have also asked my host for an answer.

I have been having the same problem. There are other threads on this topic and the usual solution is to change the permissions to 777. Have you tried that?

It doesn’t always work though and didn’t fix my problem.
