In reply to: sidebar font size different in IEThanks so much! I’ll get to work on these corrections.
I instructed my client to use the “Paste from Word” function in the WordPress menu. Is this the correct thing to do? My client mentioned periodically another person enteres the post. Was the line 383 post perhaps entered wrong, and the person did not use the “Paste from Word”?

In reply to: Mysql SettingsYes. Unless your ISP is Charter Communications. In that case, they will tell you they don’t provide this information. They will say their job is only to provide hosting space.
Go figure.

In reply to: Opening wordpress on my webpageWhat is the URL to your blog? What I mean is, does your blog have URL as an extension of your website, I.E. https://www.mywebsite.com/blog? Or is it part of WordPress, I.E. https://www.xyz.wordpress.com.
If it’s part of WordPress, you can just link something directly to that. Anything, such as “click here for my blog.”
If your blog is an extension of your website, you’ll need to set up a MySQL file. Some host companies allow you to do this yourself by logging into your site management page on their website. Others do it for you when you call the tech dept.

In reply to: 2.7 has not resolved WP image upload problemsAny response on this issue? Can you direct me to a thread that has a resolution? Perhaps a sticky could be made? Please!!!
I’m getting the same old error message as in previous versions:
Unable to create directory /UnixWeb/home/l/…….Is its parent directory writable by the server?

In reply to: 2.6 Still Has Image Upload Problem? You’re sighing? I’m sighing. Couldn’t this correct function.php been included in the latest downloads? I recently downloaded 2.6.5. If this was created back in 2.5, why must we go through the hassle of fixing versions released even after that?
I hate upgrading versions or putting my clients on recent releases. It causes so much work! There is no such thing as a five minute installation.

In reply to: where to change comment labelActually, I’d like the word “comments” to appear as “condolences” on every post. The reader will then have the option of leaving a condolence rather than a comment (in reality, it is a comment, just labeled condolence)
My template is the WordPress default template, simply customized in header and typeface color. Everything else is the same.

In reply to: ICS Calendar: looking for simple explanationsOK. I guess if you stick with the issue long enough, you can figure things out yourself…
When placing [show-ics-calendar] in a page you create it will show up as the text you typed in the both visual and the html code. You won’t actually see a calendar, which is what I was expecting.
You don’t see the calendar until you publish and view it online. Duh, on my part.
