In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issuesI just got an email from my hosts technical support… it looks like something got hosed in the mysql permissions for my account, they’re fixing it now. It’s not a WP issue after all.

In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 RSS Feed IssueIt just started working… weird… Well, I guess it’s fixed now… Not sure what happened there… I installed it last night and it wasn’t working then, and this morning it wasn’t working, and now it appears to be… I guess it just took a while for my host to get things going, seeing as I just set up the domain last night…
Thanks…

In reply to: RSS text works, audio does notI’ve had feed errors doing the same thing, but it seems to work if I select just the category that the podcasts are in (i.e. https://yoursite.com/wp-rss2.php?cat=%5Bcatnum of podcasts]
It should always work even if you don’t select the podcasts category, but that’s gotten it working for me.

In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issuesI think I’ve narrowed it down some… MySQL goes offline right after I ping the ping services, so it seems to be related to the rss feed somehow…

In reply to: Feed urlIf you have the apache mod-rewrite rules turned on, it will be https://your-site.com/feed/ other wise it will be the wp-rss2.php file like I said before.

In reply to: Feed urlIt will either be on the bottom of every page, or https://your-site-url.com/wp-rss2.php
Alternatively, it will also be embedded into the head of the html for feed readers that understand that…

In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issuesand if it really is a WP issue, then changing hosts isn’t going to help with fixing whatever the bug is…

In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issuesmoshu – I’m beginning to think that might be it… I’ve been with Yahoo for years though, and this is the first time I’ve really had any problems with them. I am very frustrated at their very slow customer support though…
I haven’t completely ruled out that it might be something in WP doing it, because this didn’t start until I moved off of WP 1.5… I’ve been methodically going through WP settings in WP and turning stuff on and off to see if it makes any difference, and so far, it hasn’t, so either it’s not a user controllable option or feature doing it, or it’s a fat finger somewhere hosing me, or it’s my host… If I don’t hear from Yahoo Tech support by end of day Monday, then I’ll have not recourse but to find another host… I’d prefer not to do that because everybody and their mother that uses my sites shouldn’t have to go through a hosting and possibly domain change…. That’s a last resort.

In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issuesOk, things are turned back on… I couldn’t find any overheaded anything, but I did go through and checked, repaired, and optimized every table in mysql. I even went to the main hosting mysql page and ran Yahoo’s DB Repair utility they provide… It doesn’t seem to make any difference… as soon as I turned off file permissions to let the world see the domain, it went off line again within a minute. Does anybody else have any suggestions?

In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issueshmm… I’ll try to see if I can do that… I have to shut everyone out of the site via file permissions to even do anything, so if you try to hit the site(s) as of saturday at 4:30is AZ time (-0700 GMT), you can’t until I figure out to check for overheaded tables… I’ll restore access shortly.

In reply to: WP 1.5.1.1 MySQL issuesI have no plug-ins running and have never had any running. It’s a virgin install with very minor changes to the default theme (which I copied to another directory and modified to my needs). I’m really at a loss… I’ve also considered that it might be someone trying to spam my comments, but my log files don’t indicate a significant amount of traffic.
