In reply to: [Make] Possible to change the post title colour?Hi folks – I’m sorry for my cluelessness but I really have no idea how to implement the code above in my site. I’ve tried putting it straight into the css editor but no luck. Does it need to be in style.css? If so, which part? I can’t find any guides that are basic enough to instruct someone like me who doesn’t know where to start editing.
Thanks,
Andy

In reply to: [Make] Possible to change the post title colour?Hey, thanks for the reply. This sounds like something that would work but I’m afraid my experience of editing css is a little limited – can I simply paste this code anywhere in that css (child theme or editor)? Does it have to be at a certain point or is that not important?

In reply to: Impossible to change my theme after a new installIncidentally, it’s also impossible to add plugins as the mysite.com/wp-admin/plugins.php page redirects to a ‘Page not found’ on my site. All very weird and I can’t help feeling something basic is missing from the install, but I’ve followed instructions from Arvixe so I don’t know what to change.
Any ideas?

In reply to: [WP Gallery Custom Links] Bulk change of gallery urls – possible? Thanks alot, but I’m afraid I’m not yet at the stage of writing plugins, in fact I would have no idea how to institute this at all. But if I ever learn, I’ll come back to this as a reference.
Thanks again.

Hello again – I just tried something that seems to (kind of) work – perhaps someone can tell me if there are vast repercussions I don’t understand.
(I tried the site you mentioned by the way, but I couldnt find a suitable place to ask – it seems to be simply a marketplace for themes, unless I’m missing an obvious ‘How to’ section)
Here’s what I did: copied the ‘global’ paragraph from the style.css in my Grid theme into the ‘CSS Stylesheet editor’ so I had a base the theme would recognise. I then found some global settings from another theme (Twentytwelve) like font-family, text-rendering: optimizeLegibility; then I saved it.
Like I said, it’s made some improvements, the text is much more readable (though not quite as good as Twentytwelve). I’m cautiously optimistic that I haven’t messed up anything big and may even have cheated my way to my first bit of .css editing (I have, as you may have guessed, no experience in this).
So – did I miss anything vital? Is this a good – if slightly cheaty – way to do this? Lastly, does anyone have any other recommendations on how I could take all of the properties from the twentytwelve text?
Thanks again,
Andy (:

In reply to: URLs auto change external-site.com to mysite.com/external-site.comIs this so simple no-one can be bothered to respond?
Anyway, solved this – links have to have the https:// bit in front when you enter them, otherwise apparently they come up as described above.
