What was happening was, that every time you would update a product with variants, then viewed the product, the variants were gone. When you then went back to edit the product, you needed to recreate the previously created attributes again, save them, then the variants came back. Very strange. However, I could not wait for a fix for a live shop, so I solved the problem by deactivating and deleting Yoast and switching to another SEO plugin. So from my side, I’m sorry, but I cannot provide any more info or screenshots. Perhaps szilako will reply.

For whatever reason the code only worked a few hours. I assume a caching prob within my setting, but I found a solution after all.

Instead of show categories I chose display products and then used a code I found here:

I found a few more post similiar to mine, perhaps the Woocommerce authors will eventually publish a code or build in an option where we can choose not to display categories and/or products on shop start page. Seems like a lot of people are looking for that.

Perhaps a note for others experiencing the same prob. If you use the Germanized plugin for “Rechtssicherheit in Deutschland” and choose to check orders manually first, your customer will not be directed to PayPal straight away. Once you confirmed the order, there’s a button in the confirmation email that directs your customers to PayPal to finish their payment ??

I think I found the problem. All my entries in the back end are correct. I found out by disabling all plugins one by one and the problem is caused by the Germanized plugin. When that is disabled, everything works fine. I’m waiting for the developer to come up with a solution, which unfortunately seems to take forever…
