Next and Prev links need to be able to take multiple categories into account, and allow one to restrict which categories the “next” post comes from.

Basically, I need, in single.php, a “click-thru” for posts, based on 1 of the categories to which they belong, and not to ALL of the categories to which they belong.

I can confirm that it does NOT work, and that no one seems to care.

What is the point of the command having an $in_same_cat parameter when posts can be in 2 or more categories and there is no way to control which cats get shown or not?

So, 8 months later, and there is no fix or work around for this, right? It would be nice if someone would re-enable the $excluded_categories parameters of:
* get_previous_post()
* get_next_post()
* previous_post_link()
* next_post_link()
so that when one wants something in the SAME category that happens to be in MULTIPLE categeories, that they can EXCLUDE the categeories that they don’t want.
