In reply to: how to edit my homepage.Cubecolour, Thank you for explicitly addressing my Eventbrite theme issues with editing the home page. I am delayed in responding because my browser / or something, did not readily detect your new post.
I will look into the WordPress Eventbrite theme. Not right away however. Other things on deck. I will post my findings when they come.
Thank you, David

In reply to: how to edit my homepage.OK, so I’ve read the “Bad Stuff” list. I apologize for offering to act as intermediary to a private contractor / party.
However! We still aren’t getting closer to “How do I modify my home page”. If home page is controlled by a theme/template (in my case Eventbrite) and we can’t ask for help with themes (per the Bad Stuff list), then what do we do?
I know that Eventbrite is a separate commercial product. I don’t know for sure that my Eventbrite theme is a proprietary part of that product. For that reason and many more I would expect this forum to support the technical (as opposed to the artistic) aspects of “How do I modify my homepage?”.
Or am I way off track with something here?
Respectfully, David

In reply to: how to edit my homepage.I see that cubecolour has removed my e-mail address (2 places) from the post. I apologize for perhaps goofing up on an etiquette or usage issue. You may request this info via a reply on this forum directly. OR is that also a breach of etiquette? Let’s not hijack the thread to discuss forum policy. Back to “how to edit my homepage?” Thanks, David

In reply to: how to edit my homepage.Well, it’s a bummer that no one has responded to these many requests for help to edit the home page. Except cubecolour at the top of the thread, 11 months ago. I am writing this as [email address removed] and I asked this question 3-1/2 months ago. Specifically I had a problem with the linkage to MailChimp.
So 3 months ago I hired a contractor to fix the MailChimp problem. She did a great job, works internationally by e-mail and voice-Skype. Great service and no goofs. I will provide a reference off-line to any who e-mails request to [email address removed].
But I never really learned how to edit the homepage. So I gather it has to do with the templates and themes. If the theme is “bought” and proprietary one must hire their “people” to do a change? Seems contrary to our intended use of WordPress in the first place.
I’ll post more when / if I learn more about editing homepage. Got bigger fish to fry everyday.
Best wishes, David ([email address removed])

In reply to: how to edit my homepage.Same question. Site URL: https://tncoho.com
Uses Eventbrite theme. I read the messages here. then examined the themes settings. Didn’t see much that seemed useful.
Special issue for me: I want to edit the MailChimp button which is in an always-present column on the right side of all the pages. The MailChimp admin has asked me to “paste in” a bunch of new MailChimp code. I can’t get anywhere close to such a low level of editor as that implies.
Please make suggestions. Thank you,

In reply to: [File Away] Newbie wants to sort on name, not ID, from WordPress tablesSolved by a PHP friend close at hand here. It was not actually a fileaway plug-in issue. Was using the group-list function within WordPress. He edited functions.php ( I think it was ). All good now.
