In reply to: Looking for a Student Registration PluginHi Steve,
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry, English is not my first language and sometimes I find it hard to explain properly what I need.
The plugin would do two things ..
1. It will take all the data like name, age, gender, date of birth, achievements, phone, address, email ID, Parents’ name, parents’ occupation, etc. This is for my own records which I will be punching from the joining form that students already filled.
2. The plugin would allow only “certain” information viewable at the front end like Name, age and achievements. None of the “private information” will be shown at the front end.
My purpose is to have a system where a student (or anyone else) can enter the Unique ID and pull information. The information will then show the Name, Age and Achievements of the student. Also, it will show that the student is enrolled with my school (I run a Martial Arts school). I wish to do all of this for 2 reasons. First reason is to show that a student is enrolled with us. The second reason is to reward a student for their achievements.
I have specifically asked each and every of my 70+ students and they (and their parents) agreed to it and don’t find anything objectionable. They are of course equally concerned about the other information which is deemed private. I’m concerned about that too and will make sure none of that shows up at the front end or is accessible to anyone else but me.
Is this still illegal? I hope not ..
Have you seen any nursing government organizations? It’s the same system on those organizations. If Employers wish to check the registration information of a nurse professional, they can simply punch in their registration ID and see if a nurse is registered with the board/govt body or not.
If it is legal, then that’s what I wish to do. Would you know of any plugins that can do the job?
Thanks and regards.

In reply to: You have an error in your SQL syntaxI have contacted my hosting provider IMH for upgrading PHP but haven’t yet contacted the new hosting provider iPage.
Okay, I’m opening a ticket there to know if they can help in any way.
Thanks for the suggestion ??

In reply to: You have an error in your SQL syntaxHello MacManX,
Thanks for the reply. I always follow those pages to export and/or import the database.
Followed those articles exactly but still keep getting errors while importing at the new host.
I tried to use the WordPress plugin Duplicator that duplicates the site exactly from one host to the other but while creating a project in the Duplicator, it came up with an error.
The PHP version on my current hosting provider (IMH) is pretty old: 5.2.9 and the minimum required for the plugin is 5.2.17
Maybe the older PHP version is the cause of the errors too? I’m not sure .. But I’ve requested my VPS hosting provider to install the PHP version switcher application on my hosting account.
Or do you think PHP versions have nothing to do with the database import/export? Coming back to the links you’ve mentioned, I followed them to export database from old server (IMH) and tried importing at the new server (iPage). Still getting the same errors.
Please advice. Thanks!
