Hello, I am still not sure what is the conclusion. Please could you summarize?
I cant see the akismet in my WordPress multisite dashboard (either network or individual site). It used to work earlier.

Godaddy, sends me their documented steps to create subdomain, pointing them to directory, etc. Come on! You must check what the problem is basically not just send steps as if a robot is responding reading a few keywords in email. Crap!

Mind you, my general advice with WP is while Windows works, Linux works better.

I am a .net guy. So wanted to take windows hosting and also use the advantages of WordPress. So I had to take Windows hosting.

Oh Sorry! My Mistake.

It is subdomain.ADDON.com/inner-page-or-post AND ADDON.com/inner-page-or-post.

Addon is pointing to its own location. Their homepage (subdomain.domain.com) is opening. But the inner posts/pages are not.

Please NOTE that my site is on Windows shared hosting. I believe some I need to modify the rewrite rules in web.config.. but not too sure so scared to take any chance.

WP Multisite and sites within its network are working fine. However the addon domains which are not related to the MU are not redirecting to the main site as mentioned above. Only their homepages work (NOT the internal pages or posts).

Oh it was a cache issue on the subdomain’s dashboard problem. I closed all browser instances and re-opened the main site now I am by default logged into subdomains dashboard as admin as well.
Hope this servers as a casestudy for someone.

An update:
Was able to fix subdomain problem by setting false to true:
define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, true);

However, if i am on subdomain, it appears as if not connected with the currently logged in admin dashboard. Now the pages are opening but how do i access dashboard for subdomains?

Hello, a lot of discussion has happened but it is difficult to summarize..what?
I have the same problem. I have a site and want to categorize on products for example, tv.sitename.com, mobile.sitename.com thinking that it would be helpful for SEO and that it would give users a feeling of dedicated subsite for a product.

I have a question and after reading this post, i got one more question:
1. How can I keep the same settings reused everywhere in the subsites. When I change the theme of main site, it should apply to all the internal sites. If I change a plugin setting for one site (e.g. analytics plugin), it should apply throughout the subsites too. Is it possible?

2. Would it be a (very) bad idea?

thanks for your responses. I tried them and finally found that there was an index.html of zero bytes under public_html. Sorry for this silly stuff but i dont know how it had come there. Removed and now its working fine!
