Hi, I’m using the documentation plugin to get a history of documents, mails, images etc. to a small party. My target is to give the users the possibilities to filter the documents to Authors, recipients, senders and show the hierarchy tree of the documents.
Annother thing is an additional field for a document number as a addon to the titlefield. The numberformat could be a string and a possible callback function to the numberfield calculates the next free number. the field is unique. This field makes the document unique in the document tree for referencing it.
Documents could reference to another documents in a xref manner. so you find in a simple way each childs and parents.
The documents are public and non public.
Today I try do realize my ideas with additional plugins like TYPES to create additional fields, categories and relations. But it is only crutch. I think, your plugin is a good basic for good DMS.
