In reply to: [Engrave (Lite)] Customising the Homepage LayoutSince this thread is titled “Customizing the homepage” I thought I’d pop this in here, but I can also start a new thread. I’ve chosen a static page I’ve already created to be the homepage and can’t for the life of me figure out where and how to change the three icon headed content boxes underneath. They didn’t seem to live in any of the template files and I couldn’t find anything in the “Customize” area of the theme. Do I need to go pro to get the ability to change the icons and text? Thanks, great theme.

In reply to: [SH Slideshow] Slideshow has disappearedMy slideshow has also disappeared after upgrading from 3.1.9 to 4.3 and in addition to disappearing it throws the error “Error appear in adding new slideshow.” when trying to add a new one. I’ve checked permissions, made sure everything is properly updated etc. Any help?
WP Version: 3.9.1
Old sh-slideshow Version: 3.1.9
New Version: 4.3For now I’ve reverted back to the older version and everything is there as normal. Should I troubleshoot and try using a version above 3.1.9 to see which version stops working?
Is it this step in the readme.txt that may be doing it?

In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhaustedIt’s an older thread, but this might help? If you are on shared hosting you may not be able to edit the php memory limits, but it is worth a try! Older Memory Limit Support Issue
Here’s another, newer, thread with the same issue, again increasing memory limits can fix it.
Good luck!

In reply to: [Oxygen] Icomoon Font Errors in Oxygen theme?I love it when I answer my own questions, hopefully this will help others with various css issues as I think this might be the cause of some style misbehaviors. I spent my hours so you don’t have to!
The problem: Despite changing the stylesheet (child theme!), the changes were not showing up when styling the site.
The solution: While I’d saved the style.css many times, the style.min.css was never updated after saving the style.css
It just wasn’t part of my workflow, but now it is! I used this css minifier tool then saved it as style.min.css and everything looked super lovely!!!
So excited, and thanks again for the theme.Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: Error establishing a database connectionNot sure if this will help, but I troubleshoot this in a few ways:
- create a new user on the existing database with all privileges and a new password, then try the new login.
- Can you restart your mysql server?
- copy the database and create a new name for the sql file, create empty db with the same name, import sql file, create user and grant privs, try the new connection
- confirm that your database server is actually “localhost” and not a specific server address
That’s all I got! Sometimes it feels like it is random, but it obviously isn’t. I’ve also just tried recreating the config file, and that works too.
Good luckIt’s an amazing plugin, thank you for your hard work!
So it is confirmed so far that the plugin still isn’t listing on the plugin page? I’m definitely getting that problem right now, but I think I do have a copy of the previous version which I will try. Thanks for opening this thread.
Many apologies, I’m new. This won’t happen again.
Sorry here’s the link: https://studentconference-test.nutrition.tufts.edu/
I think I’ve found the culprit, an h1 setting I’d customized is creating that odd behavior…
I need to fix the parallax scrolling on IE too. Time to hit Google for some fixes!First, absolutely gorgeous template. I used the parallax scrolling in a really fun way. It shows up perfectly on Firefox and Chrome (of course) Also, thank you for your navigation formatting help! The site top shows up decently on IE now (I’m on IE 9).
The only thing causing headaches are the featured widgets areas. For some reason the title text on each widget gets progressively larger. First widget is large, second is larger, third is gigantic! Quite odd.
Any ideas on where I should troubleshoot? I’m going to do a bunch of element inspecting now, but if you had any ideas for directions, that would be great.
Thanks for looking, I really appreciate it.
Quick question, I’m trying to style the header of the widget as it shows up on the homepage of my site, and its id=ai1ec_agenda_widget-2
Would I write a new style just for this id? It only needs to change how it shows on the homepage, not anywhere else.
Thanks for the styling help above though, very helpful
