I hope you’re doing well. We’ve added the “Excerpt Type” shortcode option in our latest version of the plugin. Now, you can control the excerpt type by words or by characters.

I’ve checked and found that you are correct. We have used the wp_trim_words() function to excerpt the post content.

This issue will be fixed in the next release. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
