    thanks for the reply. I did find this page earlier. To be honest it might as well be written in Swahili… I don’t understand a word of it! It would be would be useful if you could direct me to the relevant paragraph and add some explanation.

    Ok, thanks… I’m a bit confused, because in a magazine I have about wordpress they recommend a plug in called Smartyoutube, which makes it easier to add video nicely. In order to make it work, you’re supposed to pre-fix https:// with a ‘v’,like this: htttpv: on the video url link. But if you’re not supposed to use the url link, then I don’t understand how the plug in works.
    Also, why then does WP have a function for adding video that asks for a url?
