The only thing I can think of is to set your htaccess to 777 temporarily make the change then set it back to 666.

How do you suppose that happened? Can anyone give a tip on what might of caused that? I’ve been running wordpress on various websites for at least 4 years and I’ve never run into that problem. Was it a theme, or plugin I downloaded? Anyone know what may cause that, or give me a tip on how to protect against it in the future?
