    Hi
While it’s not a site (yet) just a theme’s draft content – it’s using TwentyTwenty theme in the same styling on both PC and Android.

As browsers tend to serve cached sites – very likely your test browser has shown smth from it’s local memory after you made a theme update. Just a guess.

    cheers

well, the site already is migrated, sort of
in it’s new location – id had to be re-structured to fix old issues and structure, so we’re looking for just add the missing posts that grow during the development period, as clean and swift as possible.

So – what way would you make such ‘patch’?
The wordpress inport-export or far better to use different tool?

Had a chance to make smth like that in past?
Just looking for custom experiences on such filling up with data chunks by date.

    cheers

yep, I’ve got part of content transferred, but here’s more coming in the meantime, while we work on dev place. SO at some point we will have to ‘add’ date range of posts+media+nextgen galleries.

My thinking was to make it raw and dirty, exporting date range either in database+files or using wp-export-import tool (any).

One more problam so far – the old content gets sanitised/restructured. So old categories are mostly there, but re-ordered…. so maybe we will end up with raw posts transfer and do the category re-assignment then.

I can also make it in steps, ie, make weekly transfers as development will last circa 2 more weeks imho

really appreciate your notes and sharing ways you maybe did it some time or what you think would be best way to do it

    thanks

    Hi,
Speaking of customisation, what ara chances the plugin may get various user support (same users both sites) and also copy the media’s details like alt tag, description, tittle and so on?

It would be extremely useful when working on a dev site of a stronlgy used website (ie news), then the users are the same both ends, and content keeps coming automatically thanks to your plugin, so less trouble in making the last sync before sites swap.

    Thank you

    Hello Tijmen,

Just for the record ?? Dug into the problem and found out so the cause to this mess were updated Themify Builder modules with Themify Builder / Theme being left in the version lower than its builder modules.

This caused hiccups in js and influenced WP Store Locator, too.

Now with all bits updated to latest (and fitting each other) versions – all works like a charm.

    Thank you!

    Hello Tijmen,
    Thanks for swift response.
Unfortunately disabling that counter plugin did not help….

For some reason I’m not aware of, the counter plugin stopped working, too.
So at the moment I am pretty stuck in the situation with no counters and no locator…

very sad moment – not knowing what to do ??

    cheers

well, now it all works fine.
When first started – with wp4.0 upgraded to 4.1 online and then tried to start network – it failed both to display start network menu and let me to any network settings saying I have no rights to access these places.

I think we may call it all resolved, just wanted to let you know something like that happened.

    Hi,
Got some interesting feedback (I guess)
So, got back to this subject, reinstalled wp 4.0 from a scratch and started with multisite enable exactly as codex says.
To my great surprise, the network menu was not visible at all, again!
Regardless browser (thought of cache problem so logged in from another cleaned up browser – nada).

Yet, I could access network setup via url path, enabled and configured multisite, copied all necessary stuff to htaccess and made other settings, then added new – all works fine, except of that ‘no menu’ part.
And, it’s still 4.0 not latest, not sure if I want to upgrade before next version comes ??

    Hello Marius,
Thanks for a tip, really appreciate it.

So, if I multiple sites (many wp installs) instead of multisite… is this possible to feature same users across these 2-3 separate sites?
Are you aware of any ‘user integration’ plugin so we could share access rights between two or three wp installs (within same domain)?

This way we’d keep site specific users (ie for photo biennial or workshops) away from ‘main site’… yet allow our members to use all of them with same login. And if ‘site specific users’ become full time members – could we somehow integrate them to main site/area?

Just thinking loud… if we set up a blog subsite (multisite install aside of regular ‘main site’ ie subdomain) – with one move we will provide our members their ‘personal’ space ie blog or gallery and be able to use rss feed from ‘blog area’ on our main site… which will replace existing news section… which at the end of a day is a good solution – just to moderate entries instead of putting them all in.

Maybe that really is a way…

What about BuddyPress – can someone tell me, please is it any use for such site? I have zero experience with it. Yet I really like to make as much integration of users as possible, so they can socialise using our site and present themselves (they’re mainly passionate amateur photographers)

    Hi,
It was standard WP Codex copied ‘enable multisite’ used it before and it always worked (enabled network menu).

In a meantime I was struggled with it for a while, got it to the point where I could access a network startup/installation via the script/url (still no menu though).

I think it was perhaps related to the point where I firstly got some plugins onboard, theme and settings and then started network setup.

As it’s totally fresh instal that I’m supposed to start working with next week – I will just re-install the 4.0 and firstly enable multisite, then play with other bits …. and hold on with 4.1 upgrade until 4.2 or 4.3 comes to life ?? as I already have some multisite on 4.0 and it works fine

update – just reinstalled core 4.0.1 (pl), enabled both multisite and debug and still no network setup menu is available

Okay, will let you know once I give it a try (hopefully shortly)
