Forum: Developing with WordPress
In reply to: Mobile theme not working properlySteve Stern: I followed your advice and de-activated the plugins one by one.
When I deactivated the WP Super Cache plugin the mobile version (mobile version enabled on JetPack) seems to work perfectly. So, there does seem to be an incompatibility between the two plugins even though the WP Super Cache has an own option for being “JetPack mobile friendly”.
Thinking about switching to a different cache plugin now.
Any advice?
Thank you for your help so far. Much appreciated.

In reply to: Mobile theme not working properlyThank you for answering, Steve and Staarmees.
Steve: Thank you. Sorry about this noob question, before I try it I would like to ask you if my settings and similar will be the same if I switch to another theme? I mean in terms of CSS and such?
Startmees: I didnt know that. So what I should do is de-activate the Jetpack modules for optimizing site for Smart Phones and tables?
Edit: I deactivated the option for mobile theme on JetPack, but theme still isnt responsive for mobiles – are there any other changes that I need to do?3rd thing: I noticed that the site works on mobile devices (more often) directly after running a cache purge with WP super cache.. why would that be?
Thank you so much for helping me out!

In reply to: Disappearing top menuHi TTTytan,
Thank you so much for your answer – its really great that people can be so helpful. I wish there was a ‘donate a cup of coffee’ button in this forum. ??
I can’t wait to get back from work and try the fix you suggested. Will let you know how it turned out. ?? Thanks again.
Have a great day.

In reply to: Disappearing top menuI have been doing some research and found out that WordPress fixed this problem for their users (on wordpress hosted sites) – but not for self-hosted sites (like mine).
Could anyone help me out with my disappearing top menu? Would be much, much appreciated.

In reply to: Disappearing top menuFound this:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/top-menu-disappeared-in-academica-themeWhich doesn’t really help me, but I am running that theme. Academica. His site seem to be fixed though.
Ahh! Thanks, IdahoAn.
I did think that the search function seemed to function even though we got this warning. But by disabling PHP warnings, aren’t we just masking a small problem, and thus at risk of not seeing crucial warnings in the future?
IdahoAn: Which plugins are you running?
I’m running Akismet, Contact Form 7, Google XML sitemaps, Jetpack, Revolution Slider, WordPress importer and WordPress SEO (by Yoast).
That did the trick. Thanks for your help!
Is it just a cheap solution on their part? And may it cause future problems?
Hi Jeremy,
My hosting company have told me to add the following to .htaccess file:
<FilesMatch “xmlrpc.php”>
Allow from all
</FilesMatch>What do you think about that?
Thank you, unhooked ‘use your own API project credentials’ and now it works again. Resolved.
Hi Alin,
Thanks for the quick reply.
No, I just followed a video tutorial on youtube – so, no idea why I got my own API project.. I’m a bit of a noob on this topic. :/ If I uncheck that option in general settings – does that mean I will lose all my google analytics data?
When trying to add the above API in the Google Console under authorized redirect API I get the following message:
“Redirect URL “urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob” is not allowed for this type of OAuth 2 client.”
Any idea how I can ‘urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob’ in there validly?
Ps – Very impressed with the plug-in until now though. Just hoping to get it back on track. ??
