I currently have 2 sidebars and want to remove 1 of them. In the editor I see 3 php files: sidebar, l_sidebar, and r_sidebar.

I edited sidebar.php to remove the mention of r_sidebar. While this removed it, the space for it was not allocated to my page and remaining sidebar, so I put it back.

Which php files do I need to modify and do I need to modify the css file to reallocate the remaining space?

Please excuse my lack of experience. Could someone provide more detail about the process? I have 3 files: Sidebar, l_sidebar, and r_sidebar.
Also, do I need to modify the css file to divide the remaining room?

Thanks for your prompt reply. Please excuse my ignorance but I have another question. I’ve downloaded the zip file and extracted the files in it. Can I simply upload these files to my blog subdomain without losing any plugins, etc that I have there already?

My stylesheet appears as it normally has but all my php files display this “vti_” coding instead of the php.

Say, BionicDrew, I have the same problem and have found many others with variations of it but with answers that 1) I don’t understand, or 2) don’t work. I haven’t found a single one of my categories that works properly.

When I scroll to the bottom and click on “Next Page >>” I get a 404 error (I’ve changed it to read “End of Articles” but it’s not!)
The URL shown is:

My custom permalink structure is:
/%category%/%postname%/

Would your solution of a Page template work for me? If, so could you provide a few specifics?

(I changed the 404 page message to “End of Articles” but it is not; there are more posts in this category.)

Here’s a sample of one line from my l-sidebar-php:

vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl

There are 5 more similar lines.

This keeps me from editing my menus and other items contained in the sidebar.

When I change my permalink from
/%category%/%postname%/ to /%postname%/%postid%/ I get the 404 Error Not Found when I click on the category.

Is this how you have your permalinks set? Does your “Next Page” work?

page template; single-post??

when I remove the %category% parameter, I get a 404 Not Found error. When I put it back, my post pages displayed again. Next Page still doesn’t work.
