In reply to: [WordPress Popular Posts] Classic widget is going away… but why?@hcabrera – I assume I am still using the widget, because I still the warning on the front page saying it will be removed. Also, my widget page doesn’t look like yours at all. I cannot search for blocks or widgets. Using a 6.5 version of wordpress. So, no step further.

In reply to: [WordPress Popular Posts] Classic widget is going away… but why?OK.
Then misunderstood or misinterpreted the warning and the texts on your website. Sounded to me like to delete the plugin and look in the blocks/widgets section.
//EDIT
There’s the admin warning showing, the widget will be deleted in version 7.0.

In reply to: [WordPress Popular Posts] Classic widget is going away… but why?I installed the plugin, got the warning that this plugin will be abandoned.
I deleted it.
But I cannot find the block you are mentioning in the blocks/widgets section.
Is there a guide how to do this?@happyaxident No, we don’t need a transfer of ownership. I told what I think we need. It’s called differentiation. Only because a site has ads, it doesn’t mean it is commercial. Commercial for me means enough profit to make the site run. The site owner e.g. has another site, this one is commercial and helps running the site I am speaking about. The only thing the plugin cares is: you have ads or not. That’s a huge problem. And also not worth the money (the statistics).
@gaurav984 – It’s not my site. I only installed the plugin as a private person and it runs through my wordpress account.
I don’t want a connection between my email, the site and my postings here. So, if I contact you directly I won’t link to this.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Settings not shown on post page@maybellyne Issue is gone. Don’t know what caused this or what happened. I didn’t change a thing.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Settings not shown on post page@maybellyne – Thanks. I have no blank meta box issue. I see no boxes to have an issue with. I see the tabs, as I said, below the post/article/text field and that’s it.
But I have no new plugin installed. If it’s an issue, than it from Yoast. The only plugin with an update when errors occured. It also not a theme issue. I tested all this before posting the issue here.

In reply to: Open links in new tab@threadi I partly understand. But changes without feedback are bad. The team could have avoid it. And they don’t need to check every post. Guten berg is part of wordpress and if you, or someone else think, I should post somewhere else, then it is good sign it might be of interest for the team. Therefore they should check, too. You don’t know who’s sitting on the other end and if I have the capacities to create an acc, to post again and to discuss. I don’t. Therefore: I don’t help, I just waste time for me and for you.

In reply to: Open links in new tab@threadi And this also makes participating more complicated then it should be. Why don’t they check here or why don’t you invite someone else from the team here, to check. It’s again me who needs to participate although: I already did here with this new topic. Why do I need to create a new acc? They could check beforehand if users want this.

In reply to: Import exported posts- Because I am not admin / owner of the website. Not sure, if it they stay draft if I uninstall the plugin even if not all posts are checked properly.
- No.
- No, I cannot. There are already hundreds of posts published of the existing website, if I use bulk editor it will mark all my posts as draft. Including those already published. I don’t want that.

In reply to: Import exported posts@corrinarusso I was hopeing to do this without a plugin. Thought it might be useful and thought it is already implemented in WP. Too bad.

In reply to: WordFence reports “manipulated” index.php etc.@sterndata – I guess. I don’t think I need to replace everything. I found the code in index.php, deleted it and deleted the aforementioned file starting with 828… Since then, the 828-file didn’t appear again.
I also followed the steps to hardening the wordpress system. I also spoke to the “main admin” to install further plugins and tell me when it’s done. I am not quite sure about WordFence. It’s not quite easy to handle and scans are aborted often because of the settings. I started again, make it a bigger amount of hours to scan and hopefully it does now. I will deal with additional issues accordingly and one by one.

In reply to: WordFence reports “manipulated” index.php etc.@sterndata – Thanks. Wordfence is installed, will check the links you posted, too. Wordfence is making a scan right now.
I also found out that a auto-generated file appears, even though I delete it every now and then. Its name is “828e0013b8f3bc1bb22b4f57172b019d”.

In reply to: Critical error after update@harishanker – It’s a critical error. For me, it’s something different. And where does it say something about it? In the logs? They shouldn’t be on 24/7 and weren’t during this event. I haven’t installed any additionally plugins (for site’s health) because I already have “a lot” of them active and running and because I thought wordpress does log errors somewhere save and easy to access. Wrong conclusion from me. I made them because in the dashboard area since some versions of wordpress you can see health state of the site, site’s being checked aka site-health.php or something like that. But it doesn’t.
