Thank you for the quick reply. As I said in my message, I tried that but I was immediately blocked again. There is no way that I can gain access to the site to check those settings. I can login with the same user ID and password after I disable Wordfence by renaming its folder. This is the proverbial Catch-22 situation!
Update: I tried enabling Wordfence to see if I can use one of the other links to unlock all the IP numbers but I cannot even get an e-mail sent to my address now. I had to disable Wordfence again without being able to check any of the settings and disable some.

More information. I have two screen captures showing the subject lines of a campaign designed using the block editor:

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ofw1s9bd6cl0eymatdskt/icegram2.jpg?rlkey=h70z2vfxf49wl3q6t3zjnmrr3&dl=0As you can see, the one created with the block editor leaves the keyword instead of replacing it with the appropriate text from the post.
An additional piece of information: I switched to the Classic Editor from the block editor, it seems to take and use the keywords or tags whatever the preferred term for them. I like the formatting abilities of the block editor but witout being able to insert these keywords, it is not very useful.

Thank you. I started reviewing another plugin and hope I will eventually find a replacement for Subscribe2.
I thought I found a workaround but it seemed to work only when I was logged in. I would like to:
- Create a form similar to the subscription form with an e-mail field and a button for unsubscribe step. That creates a confirmation e-mail sent to the e-mail address provided. Upon clicking on the link in the e-mail, the user is removed from the list.
- Create an e-mail template that will be sent to the subscribers when a new post is published with its title, featured image, and the first 40-50 words
I have spent a good amount of time on these but not been able to achieve either goal. If the support for this kind of questions is not available here, please let me know and I will not bother you and look elsewhere.
Thank you
OK, I found a very roundabout way of achieving the end result:
https://safranbolu.keptlight.com/newsletter-subscribe-or-unsubscribe/
Is this the recommended way of handling users in and out requests? How can I make the form a little better designed?
Thank you.

I am back! The subscription process and the form are clear. I was able to implement it easily. However, the two-step unsubscribe process is not so. I went to the Unsubscribe tab and I can see the shortcode. But there is no place for the visitor to enter her/his e-mail to request removal from the list. I can see the opt=out message but who will that request unsubscribe from the list? I am missing something here. Can you provide some guidance, please? I could not find anything in the documentation.

Thank you, I will take a closer look and may ask more questions as I go along.

In reply to: [Simple Newsletter Plugin - Noptin] New post triggered e-mailsI will follow the instructions and see how I can deal with the canceled but not deleted entries.

In reply to: [Simple Newsletter Plugin - Noptin] New post triggered e-mailsNot for double opt-in to subscribe, but I followed the steps to set rules based on conditions and saw the screen at the following link:
Maybe I followed the wrong steps. I would like a few relatively simple things:
- Double opt-in subscription and unsubscription
- After confirmation of the unsubscribe request, instant removal of the record
- A simple note triggered by publishing a new post be sent to subscribers well under 500
Is it possible to do these with the free version of the plugin? I tried searching for double opt-in unsubscribe but apparently what I found and followed may not be the correct path.

In reply to: [Simple Newsletter Plugin - Noptin] New post triggered e-mailsOh, I found another thing that the double opt-in subscription requires your premium service. Is that correct? I found the place to create that form, but I see a message that asks me to activate my license. This kind of information may be good to present up front before a potential user spends time to discover them only to find out one has to subscribe to a paid plan.
The search continues!

In reply to: [Simple Newsletter Plugin - Noptin] New post triggered e-mailsI found the double opt-in for subscribing for the first time, but have not found the same for unsubscribing from the list.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Simple Newsletter Plugin - Noptin] New post triggered e-mailsI have a couple of more questions:
- Is it possible to make subscription and unsubscription a two-step process where the user receives an e-mail and confirms the choice by clicking on a link?
- When a subscriber decides to unsubscribe by entering the e-mail and clicking the unsubscribe button, the address is “unsubscribed” but not removed from the list. That makes it impossible for the visitor to subscribe again using the same e-mail. Attempting to do so results in a message: “You are already subscribed to the newsletter, thank you!” Therefore, deleting the e-mail address from the list may solve that problem. How can that be achieved? Or is there a different solution? The one-step unsubscribe process will also allow anyone to unsubscribe others whose e-mail address they know. Not a robust process.
- If the subscribers want to add their first and last names after I import the e-mail list from my previous plugin, there is no way I can see other than canceling the subscription and subscribing again. Is my assessment correct? Even then, the second item will prevent them from doing so. A proverbial catch-22 situation!
Thank you,
Cemal
I think it is time to give up on Subscribe2. I have been trying Noptin plugin and it seems promising. I will likely switch to that.

In reply to: [Simple Newsletter Plugin - Noptin] New post triggered e-mailsThank you, @picocodes, I have discovered some of these but I have more questions to ask you. Judging by the speed of your reply and the extensive documentation, this plugin looks very promising. Thanks again.
