Well… I may have spoken to soon. After testing the issue and experimenting a bit… suddenly even the “Custom Fields” section banished itself to the right side bar. Tried different themes, no plugins, etc. No luck. The entire thin area at the bottom of the main edit window was not even available so there was no change to drag anything in there.

The resolution this time was to bust into the Classic Editor where everything was where it was supposed to be! Came back to the regular blocks editor, deactivated and tossed out the Classic Editor and all is well…. crossing fingers.

    Mike, Issue Solved.

    Custom fields must be visible.

Go to top right side of editing sidebar. Click the three vertical dots to the right of the gear. At the bottom of the drop down menu is a “Preferences” item. Select that. A light box menu system will appear in the center of the page. Make sure there is a check mark in the “Custom Fields” box. It’s at the bottom of the pop-out light box menu.

Back out on the main post editing section at the bottom, a new “Custom Fields” section is exposed. Once that is visible, it is now possible to drag the “PowerPress Episode Box” to that location.

Thanks for getting me started on the right path.

    Mike,

Excellent observation. I see that I can grab and drag that section of the editor around, sort of like menus in WordPress. I drag it to the main editing section and drop it but it does not stay there nor is there any indication that the main section has activated in any way that might indicate it is viable and waiting for a drop.

Being AJAX I thought… wonky browser (FireFox Developer Edition) tried Safari and Chrome with no luck but I think you have identified the issue. This is also consistent with me thinking it was something I did and not related to updates. I do remember noticing that the editor was draggable but was not paying attention when I let go of the mouse button. I’m pretty sure this is something I did. I will continue and report back.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

PayPal IPN failure with a 503 error was my problem. WordFence was doing a super job protecting things, I just had the settings dialed up to be pretty aggressive. I went through trial and error and found that unchecking “Block IP’s who send POST requests with blank User-Agent and Referrer” did the job for me.

    Hope that helps someone!
