It works fine under dashboard–> appearance –> background but I am trying to make changes to the theme through the CSS Style sheet.
Basically, I loaded/opened the theme in Dreamweaver and made a bunch of changes by using the Edit tool (little pencil icon in DW). This way I am able to change the font style, size, hover and link colors amongst others.
I think I will be able to use the background image I want if I go the dashboard–> appearance –> background route before dropping it in Dreamweaver. I am just meddling and tinkering around.

Thanks, will keep your suggestions in mind, especially making backup files. I am currently not uploading to a site, just locally, playing around for a better grasp. It’s the PHP side that is daunting.

You are welcome. I just finished installing WAMP and WP locally. I see my pages/links but the links come up with a 404 error. I might ask you for help if I can’t get it to work. This thing is not easy. This is my first attempt.

I am a beginner but I will like to make a couple of comments.

1. Congratulations on your hard work

2. I think your header will do better without the rollover color or at least change it to something light in the same color spectrum

3. I am not good with colors but I will consider using a different background color if it were my site.

Do you have a good link/tutorial for installing WAMP and wordpress?
This was my first install and I will like to try something that is straight forward. Will appreciate any good links and sources.

I am new too, had some problems with my earlier install but found this tutorial, https://wordpress.tv/2009/01/26/installing-wordpress-locally-with-wampserver/ very helpful. Only problem was the last step did not work but running ‘localhost’ from the WAMP server icon in the taskbar made my localhos work/pop up. I will be trying another install later.
